If you have a lot of body fat around your midsection and back does doing 100 sit-ups/crunches really even matter?Should ab work be done at all if you have 50 or 70 lbs to lose? The main thing is the cardio & diet to burn the flab off first so that you can see your abs, right?I read a quote that said "Abs are made in the kitchen"cannot remember where I read it but do you agree with that quote and do you think doing 100 situps everyday with a whole bunch of flab on your abs is a waste of time till you burn off the layers of fat?

I usually just use http://www.sparkpeople.com to track my calories and food but maybe blogging it here will help me if anyone has some advice or suggestions about my diet.I’m doing the Body For Life Challenge but I’m also tracking my calories. When I started the program without tracking calories I had gained 2 lbs so I’m incorporating calorie counting also so that I can keep dropping weight.
Meal 1: Peanut Butter Fiber One Bar & yogurt, 2 Cups Coffee,3 Tablespoons creamer, sweetener
Meal 2: 3/4 Cup Dole Nutrious Fruit Mix,1/2 Cup FF Cottage cheese
Meal 3: 1/2 Cup baked beans,1 Cup Spinach, tomatoes, onion mx, 1 Cup Greenbean & Onion mix,1/2 Cup brown rice
I wanted some chocolate so I also had a Chocolate Chip Fiber One bar with my lunch
Meal 4: EAS Carb Control Fudge Protein Shake
Meal 5: 1/2 chicken breast sauteed with 1/2 cup kidney beans, onions, tomatoes mix, 1Cup of Aparagus, onion & tomatoe mix. 1/2 Cup brown rice
I’m stuffed, I’m supposed to have a 6th meal but I’m feeling full.Meal 5 was pretty big so I think I’m good..no meal 6 just more water. I’ve had 12 cups today.
I didn’t feel up to working out today I think yesterday tired me out, strength training and cardio, supposed to do it alt. days on the body for life program but did it all yesterday upper body and about 1 hr and 10 minutes of cardio I’m resting today.
