I’m injured. Torn rotator cuff. I haven’t found out yet if it’s a total tear requiring surgery. The upcoming weeks off of work MIGHT seem to be a nice forced vacation, but when you can’t even put on your own socks, it’s not so much fun…

I just ran my first 5K road race… It’s a little different than running on the treadmill, that’s for sure, but I knocked several minutes off my "lazy jog" 5k I normally do inside… There just isn’t anyone to compete with on that treadmill. I heard some guy coming up behind me on the last stretch before the finish line.that I had been pacing myself with.. I was able to put on the juice I didn’t think I had left and finished ahead of him by about 20 feet… hehehe It was a lot of fun!!

Ok..I’m back on track…Starting to whittle away the fluff.. I’ve had a very good week for lifting.. I started keeping a journal of my workouts, and it’s actually kind of interesting to see. It’s a lot easier to keep track of where I should be starting a lift, weight-wise, it’s easier to mix up the exercises, add different exercises, etc.. I’ve seen huge improvements, just from keeping better track.
Just yesterday, my workout partner and I were messing around with pushups.. we both did 100, and could have done more.. : ) (yes…REAL pushups..not the girly ones..) I don’t think we could have done that a few weeks ago..

Talk about mad… bad habits prevailed, perhaps?? Too many cheat days?? I just saw a 10 lb weight gain.. well…"just" might be a little strong of a word..it’s been creeping lately.. I have also seen drastic increases in lifting stats, but who’s kiddin who… LOSE THE BODY FAT, GOOFBALL… (smacking myself in the forehead..)

I hesitate to enter the weight I saw on my scale this morning. I think the pizza cheat last night was a bad idea… I’ll give it a day to see if it’s water weight….. (sigh..)
Well - on a happier note… tricep dips are getting easier.. I’m shooting for a single unassisted dip… I smell it in the near future… My weights seem to be increasing for the most part…
I’ve gotta get the body fat down tho… I stopped taking all supplements for the past month…I’ll be starting those up again to see if that made a huge difference….

WELL… I’ve been lifting heavier than I expected for most body parts lately.. (which is never a bad thing!). I haven’t been doing as much cardio as I normally like to do, but I have been "mixing it up" a little more than normal. It’s easy to fall into the "run a 5k" slump… (I should probably throw a few of those 5ks back in there.., but sweating my A$$ off on the bike was pretty good, too!!) : )
I just did a yearly physical which includes a "situps per minute" (52) and "pushups per minute" (40) , as well as a bench (maximum strength), fat pinch (22% grrrr..), flexibility (23inches), and mile and a half run…
NOW…if the fat pinch and mile and a half run didn’t knock my score down, I’d look like a hero… GRR!

I’m sort of enjoying my new workout partner.. He seems to be open to doing things differently (ie. MY WAY..LOL) He goes way lighter on cardio than I normally do, but I can work with schedules on that one. I actually did dips the other day, which I’ve shyed away from in the past… (due to total inability to do them..) I didn’t do too badly..!! I also broke thru a plateau on my incline presses recently… and now that I think about it…I was rather impressed with my flyes yesterday… Hmm… WHAT’S UP WITH THE PLATEAU BUSTERS??!! Oh, I’m not complaining…believe me.. OK…Now I’m getting all worked up..I have to go see what I can accomplish .. : )

WHY is it such a struggle to eat well in front of people who don’t eat well??? I don’t have a problem with what they’re eating…but they feel the need to tell me I’m not eating "enough", or I’m "too picky", or I’m "strange". They’ve even gone as far as the guilt trip…. "YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE I’M NOT EATING RIGHT!!" (well? who’s the overweight one..??? Maybe you’re NOT eating right)
I shouldnt’ have to fight for the right to eat the healthy food that’s going to fuel me properly…!!!!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I need some cottage cheese and tuna…LOL)
