Fri. Cardio & Pilates
Hey, I felt like I was looking pretty good in the mirror this morning (BTW, it is the next day, Friday, here in Guam- we are the first to greet the sun)! Back pain is subsiding and I feel my back getting stronger. Hubby kept watching me walking around the house this morning and afternoon. He commented yesterday how firm and strong my arms and legs are. I am not where I want to be, but the improvement is happening a little faster than the norm for me and I am so excited about the possibilities. It helps me turn up my nose at those brownies I made "for hubby"- BS- it's really for me, lol). I went right into it. Trying to mix it up daily between gym and home. Still nursing the shins, but need cardio, so I chose to practice the wii aerobics again since it was quite effective.
Wii Fit Plus Aerobics - (110 cal) 33 min. advanced hula hoop, advanced step, boxing (stopped after 2 sets of each to avoid burnout from yesterday in the gym- I am still like rubber)
DS Pilates - (122 cal) 42 min. Complete set, plus core set (to stretch out the rubbery muscles).
Tomorrow I begin my leg lifting program again using dumbbells for lunges, squats, step ups, etc. Its gonna hurt.
Your routines sound fun and exciting! :) What's advanced hula hoop? My mom bought me one and I think I'm going to start using it from now on after my cardio.
Hi viXXXen! I got hooked on Wii Fit Plus for my days working out at home. For aerobics you get on the wii balance board and when you rotate your hips like hula hooping as fast as you can to keep them up and you get a great core workout! The first time you do it, it starts off just a few minutes to get used to it, and then you earn more minutes as you get better. I like to try to beat my own score so sometimes I do it 2-3 times. Boy do I feel it!!!
Good to see the back is doing better. Sounds like hubby was like the lion stalking his prey around the house lol.
Leg day...that a girl, have a great one.
Sounds like you are getting back into the full swing of things. On a plus note; since you had kinda gotten a little "lazy" there for a little while, and now you are back at it, you are going to see a quick progression as your body is returning back to where it was before and then some a little better. So don't back off now babygirl. If you think hubby is impressed now....just you wait until you show him what you have in store.
Oh, btw....I found out my daughter's Wii is a WiiFit and she does have the yoga thingy program ot whatever the hell it is. So guess what daddy may start trying to do...real soon.....
@Steve- Yes, I always forget all the great side benefits (if I don't strain myself) to the workouts. My back has always bothered me and it feels best when I am in shape of course.
@John- COOL! I hope you enjoy the wii. From personal experience, be very forgiving of yourself at first and patient with learning the wii. It is easy to use but I am not a natural "gamer" nor a great yogi, so I had to just take it in stride. I was really glad once I figured it out and could see the benefits of the wii. Have fun playing the games too- I love playing the games! Great for bonding with family/family time.
@anissa- Heck yeah! I was so surprised!
long time no talk..wow I haven't seen you in forever---anyways, I hope the back heals quick..I have issues with mine too, I have just finally been able to do deadlifts again after about 3 months off them from the last flare up..grrrr!!~
I tried "Pilates for Dummies" dvd and it helped my back..so I'm sure the pilates would help yours too!!
