Successful Event
I haven’t worked out this weekend. But I was worked. Happy to say our fundraiser for our neighbor went very well. The lady my family was raising money for is an ordinary citizen who lost her husband and son within a short span of time. Her husband’s illness had put them in deep with medical bills before he passed and afterward her home was being foreclosed on in the weeks before she lost her son. Our community really rallied behind us and we even had a sheriff, senator and congressman show up and pay out. Over 50 businesses sent gift cards and baskets to raffle. Seemed like we were calling out numbers all night. We had (too much) good food which we served, the DJ was great. About 300-400 ppl showed up. I think the only problem was that no one ate the hundreds of cookies and cupcakes and other desserts. Guess people are eating a little better these days? I confess I have has 3 cupcakes since Friday!
Otherwise I have been really good. I have had serious munchies all day. My body was tired from the event and there is all this food around me. But other than the cupcakes I stuck to my oatmeal, cheese, yogurt, greens, etc.

Cool Lisa, much respect & admiration coming your way for doing such a nice thing for your neighbor. She’s been thru the ringer. Hope you have a fantabulous week. You’ve earned it.

I love, love, love it when the basic human goodness in people comes to light in stories like this!
Ha, we are on the same wavelength again. I had a delicious piece of cherry cheesecake this weekend…. yummmmmmmm!
That probably had more calories than all three of your cupcakes put together!

It really says a lot about your character when you help others the way you did. I’m sure your neighbor appreciates your efforts. I’m sure the stars will align and "forgive" you for the cupcakes, lol. Have a great week!

Props to you Lisa for diving in the middle of the fundraiser and being involved. I know you didn’t do it for the props, but only because someone was in need. Glad it was a success.
You’ll have those 3 cupcakes burned away in no time

Thanks y’all. It is really our neighbors who deserve the props. Very overwhelming to see everyone rise to the occasion and rally around this sweet lady.
