Vacations- Good & Bad

Ugh so I feel pretty sick at the moment; I took an impulse trip down to North Carolina with my mother to visit my grandparents and it’s a little rough.  First of all I have to manage 4 days without the gym but if that isn’t bad enough I have to combine that with her cooking… which is amazing of course… but not at all what I am used to.  I’m trying to eat enough to be polite because I know that it makes her happy (and I haven’t been down here in years) but it is killing me.  I guess I am thinking I will get rest down here because when I get back to NY on Thursday I am going to be going all out in the gym.  There are definitely good and bad things to be said about vacations.  Anyway hope everyone is doing well!  And wish me luck for when i get back on Thurs haha

Learn to enjoy the break. I usually plan a 4-7 days away from the gym at least once every 2-3 months. During that week I’ll usually just do active cardio. That extra rest is good for the body. Trust me. I was forced into my rest this past year with two different knee surgeries.

Pack your protein, that way you already feel full before eating too much really good food. You can at least taste and share the meal without worrying.
