Back to Square One

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

So, After letting other things (like life) get in the way of my routines, I find myself back at the beginning. This time I seem to have gotten myself in a bind. I bet my sister $100.00 that I would lose 20 pounds by March 1st. So far I’m holding at 205……..I started at 200. Oh, boy…….

And the award for the biggest s#!t-eating grin goes to…..

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

ME!! Well, ok, I suppose that there are others out there that could grin alot bigger, but here’s why I think it’s me:   I recently bought some new t-shirts, same brand, same size as I always wear. Not a big deal, right? Well, after over a year of wearing the same t-shirts over and over, the sleeves had gotten streached out to the point that no matter how many times they were washed, they wouldn’t shrink back to the normal size. So, when I put the new t-shirt on, the trunk fit just like it always does. Kinda loose and a little long. Those will shrink with time. The sleeves were tight…..very tight. I may not have reached my weight or body fat goal, but for some odd reason, I’m not upset.

DO OVER!!

Monday, August 27th, 2007

One thing I really hate about being in the military is that Sometimes you cant stick to a regular workout. Missed days, lost sleep, and a poor diet are alot of the contributing factors as to why there are so many of us that don’t persue regular weight lifting. I recommend a full-body Dumbbell workout for those of you in the Service. Does anyone disagree?

Almost Home

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

Just a few more weeks and I’ll be back in the states. I’ve been in Iraq all summer and the only thing I’ve lost is my patience. I’m back up to 201, but that’s because this past week I’ve been eating more than I’ve used. It’s also alot of water retention. It’s too late tonight to do anything, but I will hit it hard in the morning.

Another Day

Friday, August 3rd, 2007

I woke up this morning at 5:30 thinking "I don’t really have to do anything until 9:00, what am I doing?" I was getting my lazy butt out of bed to go run, that’s what I was doing, this afternoon: weights. I wake up sore, but it feels good. I find it easier to go to sleep at night, I have more energy during the day………but I’m not happy. When I can put on a pair of trousers and not see extra skin or flab……then I will be happy

Redeamed

Saturday, July 28th, 2007

Ok, so after a reletively healthy meal of grilled chicken and vegetables, and cauliflower, I don’t feel so bad about yesterdays indescretions. What made my cheat day so bad wasn’t that I had one, it was that i had one only three days earlier. As far as over training, I did quads and calves in the morning and back, shoulders, and abs in the evening, making sure that I didn’t lift heavy……and I had a spotter, of course. So, anyway, people might wonder "why is this man telling us what he eats?" Well, friends the logic is simple: It’s a sub-conscience thing. I’ve noticed that when it’s just me, I eat like a pig. When I’m with someone else or telling someone about it, I tend to eat healthy. It’s not that I think "Oh, no! Someones going to say something negative about what I’m eating!" It’s that I just do it and not think about it. My tastes tend to change when there’s others involved. It’s weird.

Cheater

Saturday, July 28th, 2007

I feel very, very bad. Yesterday I cheated in a big way on my diet and I think I took in about 5,000 colories. I had a breakfast burrito, hash browns with sausage gravy, 8 slices of bacon, a blueberry pancake with strawberry topping, and a bowl of cinnomon toast crunch…..with whole milk. I skipped lunch and for dinner I ate a cheese burger and onion rings. I know, I’m horrible. I also skipped my workout. But, I’m making up for it today. For breakfast I had fruit, a cup of yogurt, a small bowl of oatmeal, orange juice, and coffee. I did yesterdays workout and had some tuna after. Tonight I have to do todays workout and catch up on my running. That means nine miles. ouch. Maybe I’ll just do six today and six in the morning. So, I’m thinking for dinner I’ll have grilled chicken and mixed vegetables…..or something like that.
