Rambling on…
Sunday, October 7th, 2007Saturday morning Brian tried to kill me again. I no longer have quadriceps, just numb sort of wooden areas where they used to be, LOL. I am pleased that my feet seem to be adjusting to the orthotics - running is easier and my leg press was back up where it used to be before my hip started acting up. Even my narrow smith squats was better than last week, though that stupid hip was still complaining.
Saturday I was down 2 pounds and then we went out and I had carne asada….not on the plan. I can only hope the big influx of calories works in my favor and boosts my metabolism. I am taking the ‘before’ pics for the meltdown challenge today, since I forgot to do it last weekend and today I got the newspapaer for the pics… then i had better start kicking my own ass again in the gym and buckling down on the diet. Brian looks at me yesterday and says "you start dieting January 1st", he means for the Heartland Classic. I am thinking..I am dieting now, maybe he knows about the banana I ate Thursday night? Hmmm. Working has improved my meals - I am bringing my chicken and rice and veggies in my cooler. Today I will pre-cook some yams and chicken and lean beef….so much easier to diet when I am not at home. Maybe I should get locks for the cupboard doors…maybe just strip my pantry and kitchen down to the bare necessities. I don’t think my daughter and husband would like that much, but their health would probably benefit
I have often thought that if I want to continue this crazy dieting and competing stuff that getting an apartment where I could stay by myself while dieting would be a kindness to everyone around me. Maybe Brian needs a roommate, LOL. He goes to bed at 7PM, gets up at 3:30, eats clean 45 out of 49 meals…I would drive him right up the wall in no time!
Anyhow - all of the above are just lame excuses, and I know this. We all know this - it comes down to making every decision based on this one question "Will this get me closer to my goal?" and I have not been asking that question enough this weekend (carne asada, anyone?).
Well, time to shower and go do some stuff at my gym (somehow I scheduled a woman this morning, what is that about?)…bought some cool stuff for my office yesterday at IKEA…some lucky bamboo, a candle, y’know, girly office stuff ;p Gonna set some of that up this morning, too!
