I planned on not working out at all this week but I could help but to workout today. I felt great. I had plenty of energy compared to when I was dieting of course. It felt great to get it in today. I do a lower body workout.
- Leg extensions
- Hack squats
- Deadlifts
- Leg press
I’m looking forward to eating and lifting now since i’m finish competing for the year. It’s time to put on more weight. I won’t do another show until May 2009. So, I have six good months of lifting and eating before starting my diet again.

I am two days from my competition. This is the best day of the week other than Saturday because I can eat 8ozs of sweet potatoes every meal. Plus, I’m done working out for the week. I have my last cardio session last night. Looking forward to Saturday but I’m enjoying my sweet potatoes today.
Thanks for reading my blog.

I officially had to start my diet on March 7th. That is three months from my first competition on June 7th. I started my diet a little earlier to get in tuned (on Feb 26). I had a great workout last week (march 10-15). I ate great this week as well. I really do miss my chick-fila, juice, and bread though. My energy level was great. I just started a bodyspace last week, so that helped fuel my workouts. I haven’t started cardio yet so, I’m only working out 4 days as of now. I have a long way to go but I’m taking it in strive. The weekends is usually more challenging when dieting but I made it. I was present at two different events with cakes but I resisted. My weight was 195lbs on feb 26. As of March 12, I was 189.

I didn’t plan on working out on saturday but just got inspired. In between work on saturday, I just had to get it in. I usually don’t work out on saturdays until cardio season. It felt great. This was on of my top workouts of the week. The workouts that aren’t planned feel the best to me. I had no intentions whatsoever to workout on saturday. It was great though.

- Seated Lateral raises 3 sets
- Ez Curls 3 sets
- Standing Lateral raises 3 sets
- Hammer Curls 3 sets
- Machine preacher curls 3 sets

Great chest workout. I was in a rush so I didn’t get to do lateral raises. I usually do lateral raises on chest day. I only had an hour to workout. I miss doing bench press on chest day. I haven’t done bench press in about three years. My shoulders just doesn’t feel too well when performing bench press.
- One set of push - ups (50 reps)
- Deeps (only bodyweight) 3 sets
- Incline hammer strength chest press 3 sets
- Incline dumbbell chest press 3 sets
- Decline hammer strength chest press 3 sets
- Deeps with weighted belt 3 sets

I had a pretty solid back day. I usually do deadlifts on back day but I did deadlifts on Monday. This back day was a little different so, I had more energy to focus on other movements.
Close grip pull ups
Reverse Pull downs
Seated row Machine
Straight arm pull downs
Reverse fly machine

I had a great workout on Tuesday. My legs are recovering well being that i’m not doing cardio yet. I do quads and hamstrings on different days. I had tons of energy on tuesday. I went up to 350 for 10 reps on squats. I didn’t have any knee wraps, so I didn’t want to go up any heavier than that.
Squats 6 sets
Leg press 3 sets
Seated calf raises 3 sets
Leg Extensions 3 sets

Dieting for a competition is never easy. I’m going to really miss my breads. Corn bread is my favorite. I will also miss eating pancakes. This is my favorite breakfast food. I am looking forward to competition day, so I can eat afterwards.
