Struggling today. I have decided to start carb cycling in order to lean out more. Yesterday and today are both low carb days and I can feel the difference in my mood. I am less "tolerant" of other people. I had a few people bring me down yesterday, commenting on the size of my muscles. That females look better with more "tone" and less muscle. So why is it that I was more readily accepted by the people of my small town when I was fat and now that I am fit, healthy, and yes muscular I am no longer considered "normal"?
I am muscular, I will stay muscular. I love who I have become and those people who don’t understand that will never bring me down again.

rock on! don’t let the detractors get you down. they are just a little jealous of you and self-conscious of their own inability to be disciplined and get in shape. you’re doing great! keep on lifting hard!

"I was more readily accepted by the people of my small town when I was fat" - That is a very common theme everywhere! You could hear it in New York City, Atlanta or Los Angeles. Thin out and put on a little muscle and your family and friends will immediately think you need an intervention and counseling! Oh well, carry on!

Just keep on training to make yourself happy. You aren’t doing it for the benefit of others, it is because YOU want to make yourself feel good and live healthier. Keep training hard there!

Keep at it! As long as you feel good about yourself, leave the self conscious and jealous (agree 100% with Viper1 here) by the wayside! You look great so keep up the effort. It always seems though, that some of those that may think that way now may end up joining you later as I have found.
