Are Zone perfect really perfect???
ok…so I have been eating Zone protein bars for a reallllly long time now, but my philosophy is that if it taste like crap then it is probably good for you. So here is my question how bad are they really?? I mean they taste great, almost good enough to get me through a chocolate fix which for me and most….women…that can sometimes be a tough thing to do, but if they aren’t going to get me there with 17 grams of sugar 14 grams of protein and 210 cals then I will drop them
Please only respond to this if you are super lean and eating zone protein bars…LOL!!

Hey Girl! I think that those bars are soo full of chemicals that you are wayyy better off eating the real thing…chocolate that is! A little bit of an amazing piece of chocolate every once in awhile is enough to satisfy those cravings! Or even better I take cocoa powder(the special dark Hershey’s kind)mix it with cottage cheese(low fat or ff) and Splenda…its like chocolate cheesecake. or try this link for alternatives to sweet cravings http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1463334
hope it helps! stay strong! xo~z

Well I am replying even though I don’t eat them anymore… I am a bar lover and I was a huge obsessive bar eater for years, 2-4 bars a day sometimes…ouch!! I know.
Anyway, the point is MOST BARS are full of crap and the bad for you kinds of crap too… such as Sugar, tons of sugar alcohols especially on the low carb type bars, glycerine, high fructose corn syrup, brown rice syrup, crappy poor quality proteins like Soy Nuggets, crisped soy nuggets, and soy protein (soy is an estrogenic protein source and not a good choice)…
Then there is other crap like maltodextrin, rice flour, barley malt syrup, evaporated cane juice, partially hydrogenated palm kernel oil, which by the way is one of the worst things for you….
Most of these items are fillers in the bars and others are just various forms of sugars that have been chemically treated.
Few bars out there are healthy… ** Greens+ Protein Bars are really tasty, have natural ingredients but have 260 cals. 20 grams pro. 20 grams carbs, and 11 grams of fat.
** There is bar called Quest Bar… it has only whey protein isolate, a superior protein powder, nuts and nut butters like almond and peanut butters, whole and natural ingredients, fiber and Omega 3’s too !!!
The company is all about having NO chemicals, No sugars, No additives, NO sugar alcohols, and No junk in there bars at all.
210-220 cals. 24 grams protein, 9-11 grams of fat and 8 carbs that come from nuts only.
They are low carb, high protein and moderate in fat, so you stay full on them. All ingredients are healthy for you, there is not one thing in it that is bad- It is the perfect bar.
It is in some stores around my area and and I believe we will be able to buy online soon too as they said they are finishing up there website for online sales
I can’t wait.
Anyway, as a competitor and avid trainer.. your best bet is on real whole foods like tuna, chicken, turkey, beef and some fruit, and vegetables… If you have to eat bars because you are on the go then find a good one, read the lables on everything you eat and you will achieve your goals. Food is 90% of the getting in shape and leaning out game.
I wish you the best-

I would have to agree those awesome gals above. Anytime a bar has more sugar than protein that can’t be good. I used to eat them as well, until I started reading labels.
