Well folks…I’ve been working hard, lifting as heavy as I can with proper form, eating so clean my intestines squeak, and performing cardio…and I have finally achieved some new personal records. All this hard work and training, day in and day out, being consistent, never giving up, and knowing that one day all those days and hours were going to add up to something great.
Last week on June 17, 2009, I had my husband put me through his back and chest workout to give me a blast of something different. He was abusive and worked me and worked me…just kidding on the abusive part…I loved every minute of it. I broke my personal record of wide grip pull-ups. For about a year now, 5 was the most I could do without any assistance for him. On this day I made 6 full extension down and back up with chin over the bar, wide grip pull-ups all by my little self. You should have seen the glee and elation on my face after the look of exhaustion and need for air wore off Then we did bench press and my previous max was 1 rep of 100 lbs. On this same day, I did 3 reps at 105 lbs. I was stoked. There wasn’t anything that was going to ruin my mood today…I was a champion in my heart. I had fought hard for this and I was winning.
One week later on June 23rd, I asked dear ‘ol hubby to once again put the tortune on me. So here we went, and this time I made 6 1/2 wide grip pull-ups and fought and struggled for that last half, but it just wasn’t there, YET! It will be, I promise! Then came time for bench. I knew I could get more for my max because I had performed 3 reps last week, so what weight could I push myself to today. 115 lbs was the goal and I did it twice. 2 whole reps at 115 lbs. Not bad for a 118 lb woman!
So to all of you out there fighting, training, and sacrificing for those personal records and new goals achieved. Keep it up because there is consistency in training! We will WIN!!!!!

Well, this whole community is about accountability and motivation, so I have to make sure that I not only post my accomplishments, but my failures and struggles as well. So here it goes, I fell off the wagon this weekend and before I could get back on, it ran smack over me! Between all the activities we had going this weekend with my youngest son, my hubby and oldest son being out of town, some light traveling to visit family, two days away from the gym, and a mess of female hormones running rampant…I practically layed in the road and let the wagon repeatedly run over me back and forth. It was not a pretty sight, I promise.
I ate homemade grilled hamburgers, potato chips, cereal, pop-tarts, and macaroni and cheese….aaaagggghhhh. I felt so ill and the bloating and puffiness that followed my down fall of terrible eating this weekend left me feeling ragged So what’s left for a girl to do, but wake up this morning get the kids to school and wrangle that wagon under control with a severe beating at the gym
I’m feeling much better and have finally let the guilt go from my lapse over the weekend. I haven’t had that bad of a time in probably 5 or 6 months so I guess I was due for a splurge. Tell that to my intestines, LOL! My body does a good job of paying me back when I don’t treat her right Three weeks till new photo shoot. I’ll be busting it hard and shredding it down so that I can post some new entertaining photos for your enjoyment!
As always stay focused, work hard, and train harder. Healthy Blessings, Jennifer

I think I’m both…working hard to achieve my goals and dreams, while continuing to be a hard worker in that pursuit. I remember a few years ago (mid-2005), my husband trying to teach me how to do pull-ups (not on the assisted machine) and only being able to pull myself up once with his help. I didn’t realize how weak my upper body was, so I made a decision and set a goal. Less than a year later (early 2006) I was closing in on 3 wide-grip pull-ups all by myself and popping a comfortable 8-9 chin-ups also by myself. Then like always life happens and I had to have two surgeries for female issues over the next year and a half (2006 & 2007). I can’t begin to tell you how disappointed I was in having to stop everything and recover while losing all the strength and ground work I had fought so hard for. Well, I’m happy to report that with a seriously stubborn and competitive soul like mine…I have once again started the climb back up that ladder to reach those dreams. Today, I can easily do 5 wide-grip pull-ups and 11 chin-ups (all by myself) and then hang in the flexed position at the top of the pull-up for about 20 secs before slowly slowly letting myself down. This is amazing strength for a woman and to all those other ladies who are also at this point and beyond, I tip my gym gloves to you To all those ladies who aren’t there yet, but are striving to be there one day…remember to never give up and give it everything you have everytime you are in the gym. Don’t worry about who’s watching or if you look silly (hell, look at my monkey hang on my portfolio page- I’m a goof). Your dreams and goals are just that, YOURS!!! Don’t let anyone take that from you. Healthy Blessings to everyone. Keep up the great work. Jennifer

My husband and I had a blast running through dozens of poses and outifts for some athletic, sexy, and inspirational photos. Most have been posted and I hope to hear from you to let me know your thoughts. Feedback is a huge help and I still have a learning curve that I’m managing, as well. I coach clients online through my www.BeatOldAge.com website who are trying to better their bodies and lives by taking control of their health and fitness. I also do some fitness modeling and promotional work, so I’m always learning and growing. There is an ever changing ebb and flow to the fitness industry and it’s important to stay focused and current. Thanks again to all my friends who continue to encourage, inspire, and support me on this wonderfully energetic and powerful journey. Healthy Blessing, Jennifer

This morning, I thanked you for writing to me, viewing my pages/photos, and taking me "out of nowhere" to #15 ON THE SITE in the last 24 hours. Then, I went to the gym, worked HEAVY (for little ol’ me) on my arms, shoulders, and chest, and did 30 min of cardio. When I returned home, I got great news and bummer news. The great news is that you had taken me from #15 to #12!!! The bummer news is that someone complained about my "tie" and "scarf" photos and management had to make the tough decision to pull them. I wonder if it was one of the former #20 - #12 people? No problem, because in spite of THAT, my NEW FRIENDS on Bodybuilding.com clicked me all the way to #9!!! This is hard to believe. If you keep going, you will cause this girl from "nowhere" to be on the FRONT PAGE of this fine site! I am stunned.
Again, thank you so much! Please write and let me know if you like the new and "approveable" photos you will see in the next few days!
Remember, this process is one correct bite and one correct rep at the time!

I wanted to thank you all so much for checking out my profile and sending me all your wonderfully inspiring, motivational, encouraging, and supportive comments. My community of friends has grown tremendously and it’s all because of you and your willingness to take a few seconds to review my photos and let me be apart of your life. I just rolled up to the 15th spot and I could not be more thankful and inspired to keep working hard. I love taking care of myself and helping those around me reach their personal fitness goals as well. I have so much fun finding creative ways to display my muscularity, physique, and sexiness that only God Himself could design for all of you to enjoy and use for your own personal motivation. I have tried to respond to all the private messages and the majority of the comments I’ve received. I am making my BodyBlog my next priority to keep you all informed as I continue to progress and stretch my abilities to reach my goals to better myself and those around me. The stars are closer than you think if you will just reach for them.

Sorry, I haven’t posted in a while. I’ve been unsuccessful for the past week in getting any photos to post to the site. They say they all upload successfully however, they never show up. I am trying to work with the back office admin help but, so far no one has helped to resolve the issue. Hopefully, I’ll be able to post new photos soon. Final photos for my photo shoot for a potential advertiser in fitness mags is in 3 weeks. Wish me luck

Not only am I training for my first stage competition in May, I’m also doing a new photo transformation challenge with an Nutrition Company. So, I’ll try and keep you all updated on my progress as I go. I’ll post new photos each month and I would greatly appreciate any hints, tips, advice, acknowledgements, and nods of encouragement along the way. Please be honest because sugar coating it doesn’t win 1st place. I need and want all the help I can get. Tricks of the trade for suits, tanning, hair, make-up, jewelry, etc. Also, if anyone has an opinion or experience on this please let me know. I have a tattoo on my lower back like many ladies and I’ve been told to cover it up for the stage show by some and others have said not to because the make-up just makes it look distracting to the judges. HELP…what do I do.
I’ll be back soon to let you know how things are going and I should have a new photo in February Good Luck to all the others out there who are also striving for their dreams. Read the rest of this entry »
