Learning by error.
I usually do not participate in the open forums but the other day i deciced to. I became involved in a comparison between two fitness competitors. I left a response and not thinking used caps on the first letter of each word. I guess i offended someone who replied do not use caps and they took it upon themselves to take a large number of my reputation points putting me in a negative light. I reached out to this person through a private message to get advice on the best way to participate in the forum topics without receiving a response. It is funny, people are quick to knock you down but when you seek assistance they are unwilling to help. I learned that not only are there police in the real world but I guess there are forum police. If I would have said something negative or inappropriate then I would understand the knock on my reputation. I used a cap starting each word, big deal. Contact me directly and tell me it was wrong as opposed to taking it personal. Now my rep is on the negative side because of one person. Thanks for all the help pdiddy and I do not mean sean combs. To the bodyspace members who have been helpful, keep doing what you are doing and remain the good people that you are. The other person, I have no kind words for ya.

Lawrence, I am SO sorry that someone was an a$$ & treated you this way. You find (quickly, I might add) that when you post on ANY forum, you are opening yourself up to critique/vulnerability - whether constructive OR negative. I’m so sorry someone took this one opportunity to make you feel badly and/or look bad (neg reps) - that’s bullcrap and so vicious. I just don’t get people sometimes. What benefit did this bring the person who negged you, other than to make themselves feel like the cyber-bully they are!? Hang in there, and try to post in the 35+ forums (sorry, I forgot to check your age before I wrote this comment) where everyone seems a little more mature. Hang in there! If I see you on the forums, you’ll get some positive reps from me! ~Brooke

Sorry Lawrence to read that this happened to you. There are so many more nice folks on this site than not. Hope you don’t let it bother you too much.

Hey Lawrence — it’s a shame that someone would put the primary focus on HOW you wrote your response as opposed to WHAT you wrote! That’s so immature! Anyway, just remember that person just needed to boost his/her self-esteem by bullying and they, obviously, aren’t blessed with a great life or great friends to give them that self-esteem. I am shocked that someone would even pay that much attention to something like that!! Just keep your head up and don’t let one a$$ ruin it for you!
