Quinoa is the bomb.

Yum yum yum is all I have to say. I just got done making my lunches for the week and decided to try this stuff for the first time. I made it with low sodium organic vegetable broth from TJ’s and dang it came out soo good! I am accompanying it with lime juice-jalapeno-honey (just a smidge of honey for all 4 pounds I cooked up) chicken that I just pan-cooked. I must say that I cooked up a fab chicken dish tonight. I am very excited for my new lunches this week. I’ve been eating so much tuna and I’ve finally become sick of it. I’m in the process of putting together new workouts and my diet is getting switched up… just trying to keep my body guessing to I can boldly break into the 130’s within the next week or so. My main carbs are quinoa, oats and ezekiel bread. I’m going to keep to nonfat cottage cheese, chicken, ground turkey, egg whites and protein powder for the protein sources. My fats will be natural peanut butter, almonds and egg yolks for healthy fats. I buy and cook for myself so it’s extremely helpful to buy things that are cheap and easy to prepare… and a lot of it so I can eat the same $hit everyday and not be too wasteful. Today I did shoulder/triceps/abs. I switched it up by doing supermans ss with tricep ext., then a drop set of side lateral raises, front raises AND rear delt flyes.. I was feeling like a superwoman after all these… then did upright rows, assisted dips and push ups then swiss ball crunches, side planks with a dip for the obs and bicycle crunches… then 30 min step mill with glute kickbacks every 5 mins and ten min of elliptical to cool down… whew! Now if only I can kick @$$ like this every single day! I’m going to try! I can’t wait to lean out some more and reveal these muscles I’ve been working so hard to get this past year!

Hey! I want to try this.. anyone have any links to any sites of a simple way to break it down? I already track my calories online so it will be easy but I’m not sure how many carbs to actually "cycle". I would appreciate ANYYY help!!

New Stuff

So my new pics are up and my new stats! I’ve lost quite a bit of inches and the fab on my tummy is finally starting to melt away! I really love what spin is doing for me. This week I had a small, 2 day break which were super active so they weren’t really off days. But yesterday I did shoulders and 40 min. cardio with medium intensity intervals, nothing too crazy cause my shoulders knocked a lot out of me! I did a tri-set with upright bb rows, side lateral plate raises (#5) and front lateral plates raises (#10), then did the shoulder press machine reverse drop set, machine delt flyes, and last tried to exhaust the muscles with a regular ol’ db shoulder press set of 3/12 reps. with 15#. Eating has been great but I’m tired of eating tuna I must say… I’m going to switch my menu up back to chicken next week since I’m not sick of that anymore. :) I’m ready to take some better progress pics in a month!!! Between spin 2x a week, healthy food and weights should be piece of cake.

It’s taken me two weeks to do these but I finally did them and got new stats all in one weekend! I’ll post the stats tomorrow but I’d just like to say that commiting to this for over a year now has really, really made me such a better, more happy and mature young woman. It’s all thanks to my family and friends and trainers, mostly Krystal Finney who’s helped, trained and mentored me pretty much since DAY 1. She really is the bomb.com and if you’re in the SD area and need some help in the right direction, look her up! Who knows where I would have been if she hadn’t of given me my first/free Bally’s P.T. sesh back in April of last year? I’m not rich, but I made it work and I do not regret any part of it! I still have such a ways to go with trimming and toning but I think approx. 40 pounds in 1 year, the safe and healthy way, is such a great, personal accomplishment. Well this is all for now, I’m super tired but goodnight to all and peace out!

Back on Track

Well I had my 4 day vacation in Vegas, only drank 2 of the nights so once I came back I felt great and ready to go to the gym. An hour after I got back I headed over to the gym for 45 minutes of cardio. Yesterday I did biceps/triceps with the trainer followed by 30 minutes of treadmill powerwalking. I was pretty winded after arms, did about 15 min straight of biceps and then triceps. I’m going to create a new split today for the next 4 weeks with a whole new breakdown of muscle training. My body is getting very smart lately and I think I’ve hit another plateau. I’m eager to drop another 10 pounds and hopefully get into the 130’s… a number I haven’t seen since when I was in high school. I just need to keep on the healthy eating and commiting everyday to hardcore workouts giving my all. I think the key for me will be switching it up though. I’m also going to start spinning this week consistently at least twice with a friend. I’m going to get all this on paper today and get the show on the road.

So, I’m lazy.

Well I was supposed to take my prog pics today before heading off to Vegas.. and I didn’t do it. I was out pretty late for a good friend’s b-day and had 1 drink to toast and boy even that I feel gross from today. It was a mango margarita, just a sweet-a$$ drink for show that was just caloric as hell and a waste of calories. Ugghhhh… I think once I come back from Vegas I’ll set  very mini goal of like 2 weeks to really get myself back on track and deflate myself of the alcohol I’ll be consuming and the non-tuna meals I’ll be eating over the next couple days. I NEVER go on vacation so I’m really excited. Today I’m just drinking my green tea and water like a crazy woman, my non fat cottage and ww bread and tuna as usual. On Monday I did a ONLY back workout and 40 min kick @$$ interval ellipitcal cardio burning 472 cals in 40 min… Tuesday I did a killer shoulder workout followed by a couple ab exercises and a hour long spin class. Today I’ll be doing arms, followed by 40 minutes of cardio again. This is prob my last post until next week… so until then gooood luck everyone :)

New pictures will be coming soon, I expect on Wednesday morning, the day before I’m off to Vegas with some girls! I can not wait, but first things first this Wed. I’ll be weighing in and doing progress pics. I’ll try to upload them at work on Wednesday too. Maybe I can get my roommate to do my measurements… We’ll see. But this weekend was ok, nothing exceptional though since I has a birthday party and was running around so much, def did not get all my little meals in.. but I did eat protein pancakes both days and they were amazing. I had bikini boot camp on Sat., and then did legs + 15 min. stepmill after that. I love going to the gym on the weekend in the afternoon cause no one is there and I can really do whatever the heck I want. Today will be back on the low carb… going to do back and 45 min. cardio at the gym with the trainer.

1 Year of Training

Hellooo! Today is my 1 year of rededicating myself to training - yay! Tomorrow morning I’ll be taking some progress pics and doing a side by side comparision. I wish I had the front side pics to my May 7, 08 prog pics but they are lost somewhere on an old computer. I think since the last pics I’ve gotten a little leaner all over, mostly in legs and upper body of course. My tummy is slowly inching off still but I can tell in the love handles that they are getting smaller. Yesterday eating was great minus the 300 cals in almonds I had as a reuslt of being bored at work. Otherwise I was greaaat and drank about 4L of water. I also tried a spin class for the first time and I’m officially hooked.In the next 2 months, I’m going to incorporate spin class twice a week and morning cardio 3-4 times a week. Spin class was for an hour, I did a couple bi/ab workouts before that. This morning already off to a great start with AM cardio and green tea. I have my food ready and planned so everything should be smooth sailing today.

So I’ve not blogged in quite some time. This past weekend I was super busy and had a cheat on Sat. night. But Sunday I got right back on with some cardio. Monday I did legs with trainer and 15 min cardio to cool down. Yesterday I did back and boy is it sore today! I followed this with 40 minutes on the stepmill. Today I’ll be doing bi’s/abs with a friend, followed by a spin class for 45 minutes. My diet was fantastic last week straight for M-F, and moderate on Sat night to Sunday… and since this Monday has been squeaky clean again. I have some more delicious Nectar protein coming in the mail today so I can’t wait to make some more muscles out of it. :) So far so good this week, thank god for Fuzion cause my mood took a lil dip, but once I take the Fuzion I’m psyched again. I’m going to be taking progress pictures this Friday… so two more days and I’m kind of nervous ha ha. My stomach is still coming also slow… but my backside I think has really improved with definition. I’ve really been able to put my eating in check the past month. I’m sure this is why I’ve actually started to drop again.
