1 1/4 scoops protien powder. 12 oz water. 3 oz milk. 2 tbsp ground or milled flax seed. 1/2 cup fruit of choice ( frozen preferred for the icee feel, but fresh works too). Purreed. Kills the thirst, the hunger, and starts makin the muscles all in one.
Today was good. I covered the minutes on the elipticle today with a magazine and told myself when the magazine was done, then I was done. When I got to the end and looked it had been 36 minutes but only felt like 15 minutes. I decided to round it out to 40 to make it neat and tidy. But, when I was done with that I was feeling like I needed to do more. So I added 20 minutes on the bike pushing mylself hard. At all my heart rate checks I was hovering around 150 to 190 so I did good!
Otherwise I did my arms to failure. They muscle failed on all 3 sets around 8 to 11 reps, PERFECTO! I started to do my abs but the muscles were still screaming from abd/add leg workout. Maybe I did that wrong????? Don’t know. Abs will have to wait for tomorrow.

So I have been following the rules for excercise that I have found. Excercising no more than 6 days a week, and doing weight lifting for no more than 20 minutes to an hour up to 6 days a week. Not working a same body part more often than 48 hours. Not doing more than 30 minutes of cardio at a time.
I was just watching a bit of biggest loser. The 5 minute quickies on nbc.com or abc or whatever. 2 of them said to get good results you must work out 4 to 5 hours a day. That is totally against all the ‘rules’ I have read, but they are getting tiny so fast.
What is up with that? Break all the rules and get better results…

I luv this stuff!
Ancient Harvest Brand Quinoa…the Supergrain of the Future ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Quinoa Corporation is pleased to introduce an important "new" food with ancient origins, a natural whole grain called quinoa (pronounced keen-wa) grown in the high Andes mountains of South America. Quinoa dates back to the Incas who also gave the world corn and potatoes. They referred to quinoa as The Mother Grain, we call it The Supergrain. Quinoa contains more high quality protein than any other grain. The National Academy of Science calls it "one of the best sources of protein in the vegetable kingdom". Quinoa is a complete protein. It provides an essential amino acid balance close to the ideal set by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organizaton (FAO). Quinoa is light, delicious and easy to digest Quinoa is quick and easy to prepare. It can be served like rice as a side dish; in soups, salads, stuffings; main dishes like stews, pilafs, casseroles, croquettes or stuffed peppers; in all sorts of desserts; and as a nutritious breakfast cereal. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ***AMINO ACID PROFILE*** Nutrition Facts for 1/4 cup dry (42g) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calories 159 Calories from Fat 18 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ %Daily Value Total Fat 2 g ~ 3% Saturated Fat 0 g ~ 0% Cholesterol 0 mg ~ 0% Sodium 8 mg ~ 0% Carbohydrate 28 g ~ 9% Dietary Fiber 3 g ~ 12% Sugars 1 g Protein 5 g ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vitamin A 0% * Vitamin C 0% Calcium 2% * Phosphorus 15% Iron 15% * Riboflavin 8% ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CALCULATED TO 16.0 GRAMS OF NITROGEN ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ARGININE…………………….7.4% HISTIDINE…………………….2.7% LYSINE…………………………6.6% TRYPTOPHAN……………….1.1% PHENYLALANINE…………..3.5% METHIONINE…………………..2.4% THREONINE……………………4.8% LEUCINE………………………7.1% ISOLEUCINE…………………..6.4% VALINE………………………..4.0%
Well every woman knows the full assault of ‘that week’ each month. This month I gave in and gave my body all the sugar and salt it was demanding. I am coming off a full on, 4 day, sugar bender today weighing 2 lb more. The amazing thing is all the weights I was doing on my leg machines went up by 5 to 15 LB after that. Maybe I wasn’t eating enough before. I was going very low carb, almost atkins carb levels and I was not seeing my lifting # increasing much at all.
Leg extension from 40 lb up to 55 now.
Leg to butt machine from 35 up to 45.
Abd,add from 60 to 70.
Calf raises up from 0 on the machine to 20 on the machine.
New plan: Eat at least 2 whole grains per day. Quinoa, Brown Rice, Oatmeal, etc..
Meat 3 oz at every meal still.
Fruit at least 2 times a day
Veggies at least 4 times a day.
Beans at least 2 times a week. ( Any tips on what to do with beans would be great! I really don’t like them and only ever touch them in chili.)
Today is my off day, every 6 days there must be an off day… so says the books, magazine, internet, PTs… etc….
I feel anxious and guilty that I am sitting on my butt when I could be dropping pounds at the club! Oh well, about 14 hours to my morning work out.
When I first started I had sore body parts every day. Some days I could barely move. These days I seem to get maybe a mild discomfort at best. No matter how hard I push and try mild discomfort is the best I can manage the best day. Is this normal? Does your body eventually get so used to doing weights that you don’t feel anything more than you would if you had a deep tissue massage?
I ate healthy all day today. Not one misstep or extra tidbit all day. Then I did arms and back today at the gym followed by 30 minutes of cardio. I am foregoing my normal daily activities of the evening probably all week so that I can get up and do 1 hour of cardio (I hope) every morning this week. I am SOOO tired of being my size, I am going to do a super PUSH this week to get into those darn jeans. I tried them on today, though I did not take any new pics, I think they were about 1/2 inch closer to closing! yay!
