Another Hurdle…

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Just when I start feeling better and back on track, I injure my wrist!  I’ve been doing a lot of work around the house whenever I get off from work.  Add that to the fact that I work in the computer industry all day long.  And now my wrist/hand has been hurting all week.  I can’t exactly pinpoint the source of the pain in my hand.  But it definately hurts whenever I apply pressure or twist my wrist around.  I doubt it’s carpal tunnel… yet.  But I’m not planning to put anymore stress on my hand and wrist this week.  So I’ve decided to take a week off from lifting until it heals completely.  But at least I can still do some cardio.  I hate the fact that I have to take time off from lifting because of that.  But I really don’t want to injure my hand.  I’m right-handed.  And so far this week, I feel halfway crippled because I’ve been using my left arm for most of my normal daily tasks to take pressure off from my right hand.  And at night, I wrap my right hand in ACE bandage to prevent twisting during sleep.  I hope it heals to 100% by this weekend so I can get back to lifting.

It’s official.  I need to start bulking again.  This time I really need to pack on some decent sized muscle mass.  I realize that when I first started I gained weight the wrong way and didn’t gain much noticeable muscle size.  This time I need to do it right and bulk slowly to gain the proper kind of mass and weight.  139 lbs on 05/15/2009… on my way to stardom!!  Wish me luck haha.  :)

Last night’s workout was better than how I’ve been doing overall these past few months.  Although compared with 6-months ago, I’m just not the same.  My energy is by far depleted due to all thats been on my mind.  But this week, I’ve been trying to wipe the slate clean and start out fresh again… going back to the basics.  I’m struggling a bit.  But I’m looking forward to the road ahead.  I still look forward to my workouts and love being in the gym.  After I get through this hurdle at work, I think my workouts will be back on track.  But at least now, I have a better gym to get me through my stressful times.  Before my old gym would cut off their A/C at 9:00pm to cut electric costs (I think).  I’m now at a new, less crowded gym where I can stay focused and they have A/C (haha).  I’m looking forward to my 2nd year of training.

Man, work has really been killing me lately.  I’ve been trying to balance my workouts with my work.  But working all the time is really starting to stress me out.  And I know stress is not good when trying to gain muscle  :( .  If this keeps up, I may just have to quit work and just workout fulltime.  J/K, hehe.  But something has definately gotta change at work so I can have better workouts.
