Vacation Workout

Well with vacation being right around the corner now, I’m glad that I’m no longer sick!  This is the last week before I head off to the sunny beaches of Hawaii - Kauai & Maui!!  I’ve already checked to make sure that the hotel has a gym for me to workout in.  But since I won’t know for sure if they have good equipment until I get there, I went ahead and pre-planned out my workouts already. 

Back - I booked a 7-mile kayak adventure.  And I can always find a good tree, bar, door frame, etc. to do my pullups from ;) .  And for my lower back deadlift workouts, that can be done with pretty much anything heavy enough. 

Chest - the good ol’ fashioned pushups… with weights on my back of course! 

Shoulders - I figured I could do an inverted handstand against the wall and push myself up ;) .  Similar to my arm workout, I should be able to hit the anterior and posterior heads with anything that I could hold as a handle and is heavy enough.

Traps - shrugs with anything heavy!

Legs - I figured I could still do squats with anything heavy that I can hold over my shoulders. 

Abs - floor crunches, weighted situps, & hanging leg raises from doors ;) .

Arms - the easiest to figure out… anything that’s heavy and I could hold as a handle ;)

Last, but certainly not least Cardio - this will be the best part… jogging on the beach and getting a tan at the same time!! 

I’m so excited!!  This will be my first vacation since I took my workouts serious earlier this year.  And so it’ll also be the first time EVER working out on a vacation… AND I’m looking forward to it!!! :lol: :mrgreen:

Getting Sick

For the past 2-3 days I haven’t been feeling 100% like myself.  Is it flu season already??  I’ve been starting to cough and have dry mouth/throat a lot lately.  Also I’ve been having random nose bleeds lately which has also resulted in nose congestion.  I started off the week in the gym feeling good.  But after last night’s workout I felt as though I was crashing.  Luckily I made it through my entire workout.  Yesterday I worked on legs and abs.  45 minutes of resistance training later, I hit the cardio machines to finish out my workout.  I started out okay on the machines.  But about midway through I started feeling a little faint and nauseated.  I kept thinking just a few more minutes and I’ll be done.  I managed to pull through the end of my workout.  But I noticed I was sweating more and gasping for air like crazy.  Downing my cold water bottle didn’t help.  I literally felt like I was about to blackout and drop right there in the middle of the gym floor.  I dragged myself to the locker room before I hit the benches.  It must of took me a good 3-5 minutes to recover enough to walk out of the gym.  Even when I got into my car, I had to wait a couple of more minutes before I felt well enough to drive home safely.  I’m not sure if last night’s workout were indications of me getting sick or not.  But either way I hope this weekend I can recover enough so that next week my workouts won’t be half-ass’d.  When I finally went to bed, I was fully expecting to pass out and possibly even get a fever in the night.  To my surprise, I had a hard time falling asleep.  And this morning I didn’t wake up with a headache or fever.  But I still have the coughing and dry throat symptoms.  :(

This week my first order of SuperPump250 came in.  I ordered it on Monday and it arrived on Wednesday afternoon.  I was so excited to try this product out after all the rave I’ve been hearing about it!  I got the Refreshing Orange flavor.  My first reaction when I opened it…. smells great, just like orange sherbert ice-cream!!  But I think the flavor itself is a bit too sour for my taste buds.  I had my first dose on Wednesday’s workout.  I didn’t really feel too many effects nor did I get a huge pump like I was expecting.  But it was only my first dosage of a single scoop.  So last night I increased my dosage to 2 scoops.  Unfortunately I was feeling too sick to really notice any effects from it.  Hmmmm, I hope it wasn’t the supplement that made me feel this way?  Anyways, next week will be better and hopefully I’ll be able to better judge this product.  But for now, I’m going to rest up the entire weekend so I can come back strong and kill it 110%!!!
