Discovery…

January 8, 2009

So I’ve discovered something about my "new" gym self… not that I’m new to working out, just that I’m feeling different from the guy who was in the gym the last time. What I discovered was that I apparently can’t concentrate for over 45 minutes of weight training. Go figure. So my solution is supersets of 3 exercises. It gets me done in under an hour with a 20 minute interval training cardio workout with it. Seems to be doing the trick so far. Whatever works I guess.

No Pizza!

January 7, 2009

We were in PA for a game last night and of course the bus ride home involved a meal of Pizza. It must be early in the menu plan because I was quite happy with my Chicken, Rice and Broccoli. I’m thinking it may not be so easy 3 weeks from now.

Progress Pictures are Coming!

January 5, 2009

Just took my "Before" pics for this 12 week thingy I’m doing. Oh my… It is truly bittersweet. I’m so fat!! Hahaha. But they are definitely going to be great motivation.

Why did I ever stop working out and eating properly?!?!?!

Stay Tuned.

Accu-Measure Fat Caliper

January 5, 2009

Just got it in the mail. Ordered it from here. It claims to "measure within 1.1% of gold standard underwater weighing results." Sounds a little far fetch and according to it I’m at 13%. I figured I’d be higher, but whatever. I’m more concern with being able to see the change in measurements over the next 12 weeks. So it’ll serve it’s purpose. In the end I’ll head down to the gym and get a trainer to do a BF Analysis for me and we’ll see just how accurate it is.

In the meantime, I’ll post my progress stats according to it’s readings.

1st Meal

January 5, 2009

I guess that means I’m off and rolling.
My menu plan shaped up as follows:

Mon- Friday: 2200 cals
Sat, Sun: 2700 cals (Includes healthy cheat)

40% Carbs - 4 meals
40% Protein - 6 meals
20% Fat - 50 g total
3-4L Water
Termogenic
Multi-Vitamin
Meal 1: Noon
10 egg Whites, 2 cups Shredded Hash Browns

Meal 2: 3 pm
Protein Shake, 2 tbsp of EVOO, 1 1/2 c Oatmeal

Meal 3: 6 pm
Chicken Breast, 1 c Broccoli,  1 c Brown Rice

Meal 4: 9 pm
Top Round Sirlion, 1 c Broccoli, 1 c Brown Rice

Meal 5: Midnight
Can of Tuna

Meal 6: 3 am
Protein Shake, 1 tbsp EVOO

As you can see my schedule is a little out of whack compared to most, so I wanted to restrict my carbs as I got closer to bedtime. We’ll see how the EVOO before bed works, might not.

I should mention that my workout is typically between 1 - 2:30 am.

Away I go.

Tomorrow is the day!

January 4, 2009

Gained 5 hard earned pounds this holiday season! Trust me I went hard and devoured everything in site with the intention of getting on a new menu plan in the new year.

Found the Body Re-Engineering Guide by Hugo article on the front page and am going to take the diet from it and have at’r. Because I’m minus a scale but up a fat caliper I’ll be going strictly on BF index changes. This is the first time I’ve tried it and I’m thinking it should be a different but good way of doing things.

We shall see.

Feeling Good.

December 11, 2008

Didn’t train last night because we had a game. Nice 8-2 win over PA. Sent them home not so happy on a super cold night out.

I never sleep after games, but last night was bad. I’m a night owl regualarly and I usually train at 1:30am and go to bed around 4 or 5 am, but last night a didn’t sleep at all. Crash out at noon today and sleep till 7. Obviously still really tired but going to train my shoulders right away and then hoepfully crash out "early" right after.

Blog Entry

December 10, 2008

I hate feeling so weak in all my exercises but I think it’s a definite blessing in disguise b/c I’m not hurting that bad after the first 2 nights. Much better to ease back in the pool, than to cannonball I guess. Still feeling motivated too, so that’s a good thing. Been listening to the new Kate Perry song on repeat during my workouts! hahahaha. Can’t help it… great song and a great beat for cardio!

Day 2: Back at it.

December 9, 2008

I hate getting started again!! I always feel so weak. All shaky with my dumbbells!! lol

Feeling good today though. Not really sore at all which tells me that I didn’t overdo it last night. Working on Back and Biceps tonight. Then hopefully some cardio. Really shitty cardio equip at my gym, so I may need to head to the rink for a 1/2 hour skate to get any quality cardio in. We shall see.
