Return from Spain World Championships in Santa Susana

Well I am back from Spain (a bit jet lagged & travel weary)…. First I need to say, “I am sooo proud to be an AMERICAN and very happy to be back in the USA”….. Let’s just say…Spain was not what I had expected it to be…. As for the competition…well two words…”HOLY STEROIDS!” The American Team was FOR SURE one of the only Natural Team of athletes present at this competition (I think the Canadians were too and a couple others we met but far & few between!)…with over 46 countries and 170+ competitors….we were surrounded by a HUGE LIE. Although the promoters declared the show follows the “Olympic Drug/Blood Doping” Rules and Regulations….there was NO SUCH Testing going on……in fact we saw that in order to pass this off as a “TESTED” Competition…they would take the top 6 competitors from each class….and have them draw a ping pong ball out of a bag….the bag had all gold balls & one black one and whom ever drew the black ball would have to pee in a cup……that was the extent of their testing procedures. The American Team was pretty much “dwarfed” on stage……and I am pretty sure there were a few competitors that if genetically tested would have shown a Y chromosome…but they were undergoing sex change hormone replacement (I am totally serious about this no laughing matter!)…..it was appalling to me! At any rate I did not place in the show….(my teammates each made it to the top 15 of their classes but none of us made it to the final top 6 of our classes) and maybe I sound like a poor sport to some…but I will say I am glad that I went and the experience was definitely a “Once in a Lifetime Opportunity”….I was so thankful that my husband Jim decided to go along with me…I don’t think I could have held it together emotionally without him!
The experience has helped me to make some major decisions about my future in this sport….the first being that I am determined to find a NATURAL Body Building SANCTION to compete with and which represents what my morals are as a fitness professional, an athlete and human being. I am now focused on the FAME show upcoming in Miami Florida on Oct 31st thru Nov 1st…….If this sanction truly stands by what they claim to be “A COMPLETELY DRUG FREE SANCTION” then this is the road I plan to take…I would like to rise to the top of the FAME sanction in the next year and promote & represent NATURAL BODYBUILDING as it should BE.
I am in Total FOCUS MODE for my training Once AGAIN!
