My Quest to Train Less
Yes, you read that right. My goals right now are about training less. Between work, training, being a mom, being a wife, and teaching a little group fitness on the side, I’m experiencing a new level of exhaustion. So it is time to make some serious changes. For the past several weeks, I’ve taken one full day off from training. This week, I attempted two. But was not successful. Instead, I took one full day off and turned one day into a ‘lite’ training day (just cardio). Not what I was after, but progress none the less. Instead, I’ve turned this time off into time spent tracking my diet more closely and studying for my PT certification. Although, I’m taking time off from training, it is still going toward my goals.
As a result of the changes I’ve made so far, I’ve lost 4 pounds and noticed that my upper body and abs have leaned out a bit. So I’m optomistic about my efforts to train less.

One of my friends has a hectic schedule much like yours. One thing she’s done with weight training is…well, she says, "you’ve gotta get the most bang for your buck when you don’t have much time". She’s switched her program to primarily compound excercises and has eliminated any one-arm movements that can be done with two arms. Good luck with your quest!
