OK
So I have decided to start this journal to give you all a little history on me, and track the progress as I narrow down the weeks until my first show!
I have been active in the gym since my first weights and agility gym class in high school. I always remember being one of the smallest people, and out to prove that even though I am small, I can still be strong! I have also been an athlete my entire life. I began gymnastics at a very young age and competed until middle school when I achieved my childhood dream of becoming a cheerleader
I cheered competitively all through middle school, high school, and even cheered coed in college. It is the sport of cheerleading that has turned me into the competitive and driven person that I am today.
After college, not being involved in sports anymore really took a toll on me emotionally, and I started searching out other ways I could be competitive. It took two years…but last year around this time I met and started dating (now)IFPA Pro Tommy Jeffers (aka Sporto). When we met he was dieting for his round of shows last fall. It was an interesting process for me to watch as it was my first time ever dating a "true" bodybuilder.
Being with Tommy throughout his diet…all the way up to him winning his PRO card…was one of the most fufulling moments in life that I could share with someone. I saw his weekly accomplishments, his frustrations, emotions, mood swings, and cravings for pizza as the shows neared…
At the first show I was simply in awe of the whole process and what it took to get there..By the second show I started wondering if I could ever do something or make myself look as incredible as the figure girls up on stage. By his third show, I was addicted! And I knew I had found my niche for competing again.
I decided that if I was going to do it, it needed to be this year..because Tommy had decided to take the year off…So in January I started training harder than I ever have before. A little later I made contact with Tommy’s trainer, Layne Norton, and told him of my desire to compete, and that I didnt want to do it with anyone else but him.
As of right now, I have been dieting for 3 weeks…with 13 to go until my first show in Indy on September 13. My motivation and desire are at an all time high as I watch my own weekly progressions and accomplishments…and soon to follow emotions, mood swings, and im sure cravings for everything including pizza…
Join me in my progress as my first show nears…because this is my year to shine!
