On an upbeat note! I learned a long time ago not to bullshit myself when it comes to how I am progressing bodywise. Now that I am in the “normal fat guy range”, my results have stalled. I’m not willing to dick around and experiment on my own any longer. This weekend I decided to enlist the help of a proffesional that actual bodybuilders go to to for their contest prep. His name is Alex Azarian, I found him thru his sticky on the MD forum, and conversated thru pm’s about my situation; he is definitly a no nonsense, but very enthusiastic guy - advocates a low fat, mod-high carb, high protein. He wasn’t crazy about the diet Im following now, he said its “too hi in fat and too low in carbs and protein.” Im gonna send him an envelope with all my data, pics, current menu, etc. Then hes gonna write me up a regimin to follow, so Ill start that as soon as the in-laws leave next week. Pretty excited to have a pro helpin me, but the proof is in the pudding.. We shall see! If he can get me progressing again, it’ll be the best $100 Ive spent in a while!

Great week! Decided it was time to ratchet up the lifting seriousness, so I got a notebook and started keepin a journal that records, weight reps, sets, etc. Feeling alot sorer these days, now that I don’t cut it short, guesstimate, or drag ass thru the last sets. Been 6 days without refined stuff and since its outta my system, all the cravings are history. Cuttin them out also dropped my daily carbs and calories too, so Im lookin forward to the BF test sunday.

After my weekend “self-intervention” I’ve succesfully kicked my addiction to sweets (protein bars and fake ice ream) - and just in time, that shit was startin to get outta control. Luckily, I killed the monster when it was small so it wasn’t a big deal. Plus, Ive started watching Bizzare Foods with Andrew Zimmerman . That guy eats the most disgusting shit Ive ever seen. Great for curbing my appetite so I make sure I have an episode saved on tivo.
Since the refined stuff is outta my system, Ive noticed a few things: I’m not watchin the clock, hungry all day; I get sleepy at 10pm and am not rollin around all night tryin to fall asleep; and have more energy during my workouts/cardio.
Thanks for the jello and pudding ideas, they have definitly come in handy!! I’ve re-discovered gummi bear flavored jello (1 box lime + a red box)… Good stuff

Seems like when “cheat” carbs are NOT in my system, I dont crave em. But lately I feel like a cokehead when its gettin close to dessert time. More importantly tho, fatloss has been stalled lately. Looked over my fitday logs and at my daily food journals. Been chompin on alotta f*ckin protein bars and fake ice cream these days! I think my sweet tooth came back, and it bought a few hungry friends; My dessert food were starting to show up 2 and 3 times a day. NOT GOOD SIR!
Get yer shit together - OR- keep going and slowly get fat again…
Easy decision!!! I’m 86ing the fun stuff and get back to eating as naturally as possible again, so I can burn off the rest of this damn belly once and for all!!! Ill get back to havin sugarfree popsicles or throw together a protein drink when Im feenin for somethin sweet. If I remember correctly, the first week is rough, but then the cravings are history. Probly gonna be a cranky little bitch next week, but it’ll be worth it when I gotta start buyin smaller sized pants again. It’s time to grab the bull by the horns, then spin it around and kick it in the ass

the bike is still hangin in there; I decided to modify it on day 1 by putting a screw in the base, so the 2 pieces wouldnt slide apart while using it. Probly wouldnt be an issue if used on carpet, but itd walk after a while on my patio floor. Easy fix tho, runnin great. I pedaled my ass off this week after my lifting. Probly gonna do a BF test / weigh in tommorow, since its been a while for that. In my experience, the body is either gaining or losing - weight / bodyfat % is rarely in neutral

TOMMOROW is UFC!
Got roped into goin to a buddy’s house tommorow for UFC, so I can meet his new girlfriend. Sounded great last weekend when we made the plans, but Id rather just stream it from my computer, and not have to drive up there, bein polite, etc. Oh well, Its an awesome card, I’m sure it’ll be a good time. Gonna make sure to lift and do cardio beforehand, in case they wanna go to Duffys sports bar. Come to think of it…A night of budlight, chicken fingers, and violence in hi-def would be pretty sweet. Ok, 45 minutes cardio tommorow!

The deal is done and put together. Pretty painless process actually; After tax, the bill was only 130 bones. Took about an hour to put together but WOW. What a nice surprise - even with my big ass, the sucker is comfortable, feels solid and works like a champ! This is it

Decided this week to chill out eating so gawdamn much. I thought about it, my lean body mass is probly only about 230lbs (I have about 20-25lbs of butter to burn still). Right now Im doin the job hunt so I’m only "exercise-active" for about an hour a day.
Was eatin every 3 hrs but I’m gonna spread it out a little more. Maybe go with about 2200-2300 cals, 270-280 protein, 150 carbs. Should have enough fuel with this combo for energy and muscle food, without having too much raw materials left over to be stored as fat.
Plus I interviewd with Comcast today and it looks like after a month of training, I d be climbin up telephone poles and wormin thru attics, so Im sure that droppin some pounds wouldnt hurt! I’m actually gonna get my walkin again. I just envisioned getting stuck in an old lady’s attic, having a mouse crawl up my ass, and then tryin to explain it to a doctor

The relatives have gone! I look forward to their visits for weeks, but after 4 days of a cryin kid, hangovers, sleepin on an air mattress, little exercise, and eventually junkfood. I was glad to see em pullin outta the driveway. I love em, but damn!
Got back into the groove again today with healthy menu and my first real workout today, it was great. Gonna start walking again this week. Got some awesome shoes (Magnum Vipers) that work really well with my inserts, so ill start with 20 minutes and add to it gradually.

I wanna try out uploadin / postin a youtube clip. Heres one of when i needed some "quiet" time, i escaped outside and got a quick clip of the knuckleheads. They were hunting the evil and very elusive sea monster that they are sure is in the pool.

Dropped 2 lbs this week.
Since i failed miserably at my first attempt with carb cycling I attribute it to the change I made in the timing of starchy carbs.
I have 1/2 cup oatmeal, as soon as i wake up with my protein drink. Then I have oatmeal 1 hr before and 1/2 cup brown rice soon after I exercise. This way the starchy stuff is used up rather than sittin around like a bunch of hobos at a bus stop.
My 2 anytime carbs (pure protein bar and fake ice cream) stayed the same. Those suckers keep me sane
