a melting waist and a disappearing ass

Friday, March 21st, 2008

i was doin my morning cardio and the belt i use to clip on my mp3 player was loose and floppin all over the place when i would do bursts of running. didnt read too much into it until  i cranked down my lifting belt tonite and saw that its not tight enough anymore. i got some hole drilling to do tonite - i love it. ive dropped about 4 waist sizes so far
later in the day another realization set in… i havent ridden my harley in about 8-9 months so the battery died. i wanna get back on it so my mechanic picked it up today. when i wheeled it outta the garage,  it felt alot heavier; then it hit me - last time i rode I was at least 50lbs heavier. i tried on the jeans in my closet, 3 are now in a goodwill pile in the garage, and the formerly "skinny" jeans are now lookin like MC Hammer pants on me.
persistence really does pay off. im lookin forward to sunday’s weighin, now that i started implementing running bursts during my morning walk.

it worked - the plateau has been smashed!!

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

i followed my plateau busting diet (previous blog) religiously for about 8 days and im at a brand new 10+ year low weight,  269.5lbs.  i felt great this week, and got great results so im gonna stick with it. hardest part was the Low Salt Saturday (since I weigh-in sunday morning) -  but other than that ive had plenty of energy; great pumps. good stuff!!

plateau busting - goin back to what got me this far

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

havent officially weighed-in for 10 days due to sickness; decided to breakthru this bullshit month-long plateau this week. i took an objective look at what i ate at the beginning and what ive been eating recently. my portion sizes were growing, i kinda veered away from strictly eating whole food, and ive been way too liberal with "luxury items."
==================================
I  dropped the natty peanut butter, whole wheat bread, light mayo, south beach bars, and stuff that i guestimate carbs / fat  - like my dad’s "healthy chili".  Im rationing myself 1 pure protein bar as a treat per day instead, either pre or post workout.

I also added in more starchy carbs, which I was a little nervous to do. ive actually have had more energy and MUCH better pumps, so i guess im on the right track. typical menu:

5am)wake - 2 scoops Isopure zero carb whey protein isolate ; *50 minutes cardio*

7-8am) 3 eggs; 1 cup oatmeal

11am) walnuts;

12pm) BCAA drink *LIFT*   1 sccop isopure/1 sccop casein/ 1 tsp creatine mono

1)     1/2 BIG can tuna; 1/2 cup brown rice; broccoli; walnuts

4-5) steak/ chicken breast/ OR 1/2 big can tuna; 1/2 cup brown rice;  cauliflower
8-9)  3 eggs

** calories 2400 / fat 50 / carb 155/ protein 255
