think my diet needs tweakin…

noticed yesterday while i was puttin on my belt that i need to drill some new holes because its not fittin me right anymore. that was a great sign!

weigh-in day:

did elliptical for 20 minutes this morning then jumped on the scale this mornin and saw that i only lost half a pound this week.  tryin not to get wrapped around the axel over a number, but it was definitly a surprise.  religiously doin mornin cardio, noon lifting/elliptical.  im startin to think i need to readjust the macros, mainly fat intake; maybe even have 1 or 2 lowcarb days during the week. this was my average this week according to fitday.com:

calories:  2241

fat: 73 - gonna keep this under 50 and see what happens this week
carb: 115
protein: 253

any other ideas?

edit:

it just hit me what ive done different this week.i looked over my food log and i didnt eat one damn vegetable all week long… i was drinkin V8 instead, cuz i got burned after months of vegetables…. gonna go back to eatin lots of broccoli and spinach again and see how the scale looks next sunday

maybe that fascial stretching works after all!

ive seen it popular in spurts over the years, theory is that muscle is wrapped in an "elastic" called fascia which limits the growth. u stretch the fasica to allow the muscle to grow. i always thought it was bullshit but Dave Palumbo mentioned it in a podcast on MD.com recently, so i figured id give i a serious try for a couple weeks on my chest -  since thats the only part i know how to stretch right now.
chest :  i take NO products so i get a good pump after about 2 sets. then after every other set id get in my power rack, like im on a cross. and stretch like a motha****a. till my chest muscles burned. (paying special attention not to hurt my shoulder joints). i did this followed by flexing. stretchin my right pec especially since it is a tad smaller, due to shitty liftin form as a teenager.

anyways! the othernight when i was gettin in the shower i noticed i had a quarter size bruising where the pec, shoulder tie in is - by the armpit basically. i looked closer and in the bruise was actually about 2 brand new stretchmarks.  this happened on the side that i have paid special attention to stretching, so im sure its not a coincidence. only took 2 weeks to see these results and im definitly gonna keep up with the fascial stretching now; i gotta find out how to strech all the other parts now

first weigh in since the holidays… DOH!!!

looks like the 2 holiday weeks, and nightly cases of budlight put a hurtin on my ass.  beer makes for some fun times but that shit packs a mean punch fast.

been a week of hardcore cardio and lifting; nice to see im still in the 280’s still but that "hump" in my weight chart is definitly ugly.

im gonna set a new 4 month goal, i wanna be 270lbs by May 11.

new traps exercise

today i trained traps and triceps;
i really wanna build some linebacker traps; i usually do about 5-9 sets of heavy barbell shrugs. got kinda stale so for shits and giggles, i tried doin shrugs with my hands very close together (about 2 inches apart) and damn…its been 2 hours and they still feel exhausted and i can already feel em gettin sore. definitly gonna keep doin these monsters on trap day

post workout protein shakes

read an article in Muscular Development today about how taking whey & casein in a postworkout shake  is better than taking 2 scoops whey. the study gave impressive numbers so im gonna try that for a while and see how it works for me

i certainly am not ravenously hungry, like i usually am after a whey-only drink, so thats a nice surprise.

holidays are over, house guests are gone - back at 100%

as expected with the inlaws stayin here, were were boozin-hello. eating dirty magically seems to follow the beer.  managed to keep liftin tho.  im sure i have a ton of retained water from all the beer, bbq sauce, and salty stuff so im gonna give it  a week or 2 of training till i input a weight so i dont get discouraged by the mountain in the chart. poundin a gallon of water a day will help so i started that again
as of monday jan 7 im refreshed, motivated, and back at 100% discipline; good to go. havin a new season of the biggest loser on doesnt hurt at all either
