Well, I finally had to make my decision & own it. I decided to take the rest of this year to make myself as healthy as possible & not miss one workout. I will continue w/my mass diet & training to sculpt the most rockin’ bod possible for 2010. I really wanted to get on stage this year but out of respect for my coach & trainer, I have decided to wait….yes, it’s my body, my life, etc. But this man has believed in me & taken me so far….I don’t want to disrespect him…he’s the expert.
Best of luck to all my fellow Bodyspacers in their competitions this year. It’s such a thrill to take your body to another level!

Well, I am officially at a crossroads with my competition schedule.
I have a wonderful trainer who has seen me so far with my quest to compete in figure comps. I did 4 shows last year & qualified for nationals after winning my height class. I am quailified w/the NPC to compete in a 2 year window & my trainer would love for me to take the year off to get bigger, stronger & bring the total package to the national stage.
I also have a wonderful nutritionist who has taken my body & completely changed it with the diet. I am eating 140 grams protein/260 carbs/28 fat grams per day. This diet has completely changed my muscle mass (made me bigger) & I’m maintaining 11% bodyfat, even in the "off-season". I weigh 140 lbs yet I’m still a size 2 in clothes. I love the human body! Basically, it would not take much for me to lean out if I decide to compete but I need to make the mental decision and OWN IT!
My trainer’s fear is that if I "cut"…meaning lean out for a show, I will lose the precious muscle that I’ve worked so hard to put on my body. My nutritionist says "bull" & that I can get it back immediately. He prepares men & women for bodybuilding/figure comps so I’m confident in his knowledge.
On one hand, I don’t mind taking the year off b/c it was CRAZY last year & very hard to maintain life on a constant prep diet. But, I’m 41 years old & my window is closing. I hate to admit it but it’s the truth when it comes to figure competing…not so much with women bodybuilders.
I’m doing a lot of soul searching right now. Thanks to all my bodyspacers for their support-I couldn’t do it without you.

April 12th, 2008. This was the first time I sat down & wrote a blog entry. I was training for my first figure competition! Now, 4 figure comps later AND qualifying for nationals…WOW…who would have "thunk" it.
If you can dream it…you can see it…you can make it happen. I am a firm believer that we are in charge of our destiny. God gives us "forks in the road" and it’s up to us to see the path. Don’t let go of that dream to make yourself better. And as my trainer/coach will tell me…"It’s supposed to be hard!"…lol…thanks Hal…I couldn’t have made it this far without you!
My personal training business has exploded and I am now doing on-line training. Please visit my web site www.kathylaucius.com Sign the guestbook & let me know what you need!!

Today is my 41st birthday-woohoo! Thank you to everyone for all the wonderful comments & birthday love. I had a great day (it’s not over yet)…how did I spend it? I spent the day with my fab clients & then treated myself to a 1 hour boxing session. Yes, I paid money for a workout today…I didn’t splurge on food or drink…that’s how I know I’m in this for life!
What a birthday surprise to wake up & find out that I’m one of the top 10 ‘Best Abs on Bodyspace’ for March- which is chosen by none other than the AB Guru himself…SuperMaine. Check out his blog at http://blog.bodybuilding.com/1jz300/…-ofbodyspace/ Thank you Elijiah for including me!
Please be sure to visit my website for recent updates. I have added a video section & will be posting new ones that include topics of clean eating, prepping in the kitchen and some more instruction videos. Also, a guestbook has been added to the site so I look forward to hearing from my fellow Bodyspacers!!
This time last year I was contemplating the idea of competing in a figure competition. Now, 4 competitions under my belt for 2008 & qualifiying for Nationals has been a dream come true…BRING ON 41 YEARS YOUNG!

I can’t believe it’s been over 3 months since I’ve written anything in my blog! Time really flies!
So here I am with so much to say that I hardly know where to start. First of all, thanks for all of the incredible support and comments I’ve received from my fellow BodySpacers! I love it! No matter how tired or drained I might feel, all of your support gets me right back in gear again!
I’m still in awe over how many of you follow me from here to my website (http://www.kathylaucius.com) and how much mail I’ve received there! I really do try to answer all of your questions and I honestly read every last one of them. In fact, I’m going to take up some of the more recurring suggestions. I’m going to be adding a new Video Section in the next few days!!! If you have any suggestions on what you’d like to see, email me! Also, make sure that you go to my website and sign up for my Newsletter! (http://www.kathylaucius.com/documents/newsletter.html) That way you will know when I’ve added a new video or photo gallery or if I’ve got other important news to share. I will also be adding a Guestbook feature to my website so that your comments and ideas can be posted for all to see and comment on!
My new e-Book, “Burn Off The Fat” is scheduled for release at the end of next month, again, get signed up for my Newsletter (http://www.kathylaucius.com/documents/newsletter.html) as I will be offering a pre-sale price mid march.
I am currently training for the NPC Texas contest to be held in Houston on 7/18/09. From there it’s on to Nationals (probably Jr. Nationals first in Chicago). I’ve stepped up my workouts in the gym & my diet is slow & steady to continue to sculpt a rockin bod! I will be 41 in (YIKES) 7 days! I can’t believe how blessed I am to do all of this!
Peace Out!

First of all, there are not enough words to describe the support & love I feel from my fellow Bodyspacers. This year has been a dream come true with reaching my goal of competing AND qualifying for Nationals…without all of you (and of course my real live family-lol) I’m not sure it would have "gotten done"!
So, with that said, every Rockstar will have an off day & I believe mine was today. The # of girls in this comp was too many to count & they all came in fit & beautiful. I came in "tight" as a drum as we say in the biz but started to "spill over" by mid-morning. What that means is I may have peaked too early & I felt very watery by 10am…I wasn’t prepared for the long morning & I didn’t even hit the stage for my first judging until almost 11am…remember, I’ve been up since 4am!
I will not know the results until tonight. I’m never one to throw in the towel but I am also smart enough to know when it’s my day & when it is not…
I have had the most incredible year and to do it all at FORTY YEARS OLD is ROCKIN! I’m so blessed in my life & this was just another experience to add to my already fabulous life!
This rockstar is going to enjoy her off-season after an unprecedented FOUR shows this year…time to start thinking about competing at a national level…time to set another goal…because really….why stop now? Life is about setting goals, reaching them & basking in the glory of accomplishment!
Peace Out!

Focus-such an easy word to say but so hard to do! I have been working hard this week w/my posing techniques. I never knew what a skill it is to get all the proper moves down…this is going to be so much more difficult than any squat or chest press I’ve ever done-LOL!
I’m so glad to have this website for support. I only have a few friends who understand the reason to compete. Most of my friends/clients/even family members are worried I’m trying to get too thin or look like Arnold. They have don’t have a clue about a figure competition or what the purpose is to participate in one.
This is personal. I’m 40 years old & I am in the best shape of my life-even after 2 kids. I don’t want to be 50 years old wondering…"Woulda…Coulda…Shoulda&
quot;. So, I’m going for it & I plan to think like a winner!
Have a great week!
