Vacuuming A-L-L DAY long!!!!

Friday, June 26th, 2009

I’m sitting at my desk at work….vacuuming.
I’m getting up to go to the other side of the building…..vacuuming three times as I get there.
I just got back from getting a drink of water…..I vacuumed then too.

My new kick is to get my GUT trained - I’m doing the crunches, I’m eating clean, and I’ve added cardio - I think the next step is TRAINING MY GUT to stay inward and not bulge out….unless I’ve got some bloated liver thing going on - this is going to work. I’ll make it work, dammit.  Stomach vacuums is the name of the game. :D

Who needs A.C.?

Apparently, we didn’t….

I aint gonna lie - it was hot as hell yesterday - but we pushed through and managed a pretty intense workout. Plenty of water is a must!  :D

Sweatin’ like a freak - but soldia’n on nonetheless

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

OK, so I left my phone at home - but I have the snapshot of the temp gauge - when we began lifting at 6:30P, it was a chilly 96.3 degrees int he garage!!!! Several bottles of water and an intense workout later, I checked the gauge at the end of our post-workout jog and it was 93 degrees at 8:20P…..madness. But since there nowhere else for me to workout and it’s not gonna get any cooler for a while, we just need to suck it up and lift.

With that said, I feel like we got a pretty good lift in - hit a decent modified 5 x 5 routine that had lunges, clean-presses, straight arm pulldowns, plyo-metric pushups, heavy set of curls, calf/tibia raises, and then finally quick jog down to the fire station (which isn’t that far….but when it’s that hot, it might as well been 10 miles away!!!!)

Much to C.J. and Nick’s credit - they endured with only the usual obscenities muttered from all sides - what can I say, we’re guys! this Friday will be strictly cardio and plyo work - so a break from the intense lifting in the extreme heat…after last night, I feel like I could do a workout in a sauna!!!

What does 100degree weather and a home gym have in common?

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

…I’m gonna be in both today after work!  Yep, it’s forecasted to be 100-102 today and it’s not supposed to cool down till around 8-9pm. Two box fans, a ton of bottle water and the determination not to wuss out today in the home-gym (garage).

I guess I better have 911 on speed-dial! LOL!

The Monday Lift From HELL!

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

Or should I say, it was like lifting in HELL! The advantages of a homegym is that you can step right into the garage or next room and start hitting it hard without the distractions of gym-bunnies, the frat-pack or wait in line for equipment.

The disadvantages:

94 degrees

Yea….it was hotter than hellfire in the gym last night….but that didn’t stop C.J. and I from hitting it hard on a modified 5 x 5 routine - then some double sets for triceps and biceps…then a warmup on calves and tibia raises to immediately go jogging right after. I was starting to feel caveman there for a while, although the boxfans provided "a little" cooling.

Who needs AC anyways?!??!?

Week 2 of rejuvination!

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Ok, so last week I woke the muscle up with a 2-day lift, 3 day cardio split. I did a medium 5 x 5 with abs training and it felt great! So this week, C.J. is back at the home gym to lift with me and with any amount of luck, I’ll get back in the groove of things. I’m surely motivated as seeing the positive appearance of just one week of lifting - so with my training partner, I’m sure to start looking bulked again (well…."bulked" for me, that is!)  :D

HIATUS is O-V…..

Monday, June 15th, 2009

"O-V" as in OVER! This weekend, we had one last garage sale and amazingly got rid of the rest of the large stuff that was crowding my new garage - set up the home gym and I even got to file down the holes in my new weight plates so they wouldn’t stick on the bars anymore.

The real motivation came this morning when I saw a picture fo myself from a couple of months back…my arms were noticeable larger than they are now….now, after I’ve been wasting for 4 weeks - this sh!t’s gone way to far! Tonight I am back in the gym - back on the supplements, back to the clean eating. Today I regain what 4 weeks destroyed.
