Workout #2 - Cytogenix Stack

Friday, January 30th, 2009

Workout two is in the books - this time I reamped up the dosage on the Cytonox to see if I could tell a difference. But before I go into that, I need to preface the workout with some notes:

The night before I was up ALLLLLL night, becuz my 5 month old daughter seemed to thing it was cool to wake up every two hours and begin crying. So after my wife got her back to bed, I would just begin to get back to sleep and….yep, she would wake up again.

So all day yesterday, I was dragging ass - feeling the effects a pretty intense workout the evening before - daily stress of work. So before I left work, I knew I was dead tired - I even texted my training partner to see if he was gonna show up - just so I could know what kind of workout I was going to have (it’s hard to go all-balls out if no one is there to spot you!)

I kid you not - I almost fell asleep at the wheel like three times - that’s how tired I was.
Upon finally getting home, I had to set up the garage for heat and then run inside - C.J. (partner) shows up and I get the Cytonox ready - two scoops! C.J. inquires: "What’s that??" I explain it to him - ask if he wants some. He’s concerned about it making him "wired" so he opts for a half dose (single scoop). I give it to him and them begin stirring mine.

This is product relevant information: OK, so I would recommend that as soon as your Cytogenix Cytonox hits the water, you need to start stirring vigorously - if you let it sit there for any amount of time (like I did), it caked at the bottom of the cup. I thought I had stirred long enough and started drinking - when I got to the bottom of my 10oz’s, I noticed that a majority of the mix was caked at the bottom of the cup - I scooped it out with my spoon and just went after it….it tasted great and all - but it wasn’t doing funky stuff in my esophagus.  So I added water, started stirring and drinking as quickly as I can…..didn’t help - I was basically just swallowing the grainy mix….which was no problem till it got caught in my throat! D’oh!!

Ok, so 15-20 minutes later it’s lifting time! And guess what: I am WIDE AWAKE and ready to lift some weights! I was surprised how the cytonox turned me around - 30 minutes ago, I was struggling to stay awake when my life depended on it, and now I’m pumped and ready to go. Two scoops is good to go!!!

The 5×5, second day workout went almost identical to the first day: I breezed through lifts and weight that I should typically have struggle with. Even my weak/soft exercise, military presses - heavy, were a breeze. The first set, I was popping the weight up - it wasn’t until the 5th set on the 5th rep that I had a tad bit of trouble - but was able to complete the entire set with NO assistance! Looks like we’re going up in weight! HAHA!

The entire time I felt energized - not jittery or "wired" - just energized. The time between sets was around 45 seconds - and I was hitting each set as if it were the first. The only side effect of two scoops (and I am not certain if it related yet) was I was little gassy. And then since I think I still had a lump of cytonox mix sitting somewhere between my throat and stomach - I was constantly feeling pressure and then a burp would make it all better.  A few times I felt a little queasy - but hey: that’s why I have 10-gallon buckets in my garage!! :D

If someone asked me: do you feel more focused on the cytonox, so far - I wouldn’t be able to say ‘yes’ just yet - I am pretty focused in the gym.

If someone were to ask me: do you feel energized - I would definitely say YES. This stuff really recharged me and the fatigue time between sets was ridiculously low. 30 seconds would pass between sets and I was ready to go. This was certainly the case where typically the mind was stronger than the body - but this time, the mind was having trouble keeping up: I would approach the weights thinking that I haven’t had enough rest time since the last set. Then the weights were in hand and the body was pumping the reps out - my mind would say: holy crap - I’m doing it!

Vascularity was kicked up another notch (bam!) with the extra dosage - it was certainly obvious when I did my 1×50 set of bicep and 1×50 triceps. The bicep exercise selected was sitting decline barbell curl at 65lbs. I gotta tell you, I hit a nice stride - but right at rep 35, I was certain someone had a blow-torch on my bicep! I had to take a 8 second pause on 35 - kick out 5 more - 5 second pause and then muscled out the last 10. I performed a post-set bicep plyo-flex and my arms felt pumped and hard - I loved it.

The tricep exercise was the behind the head dumbbell tricep press - 40 was kicked out before I was struggling - but I muscled past and hit 50 all in one go. Brutal!!! Plyo-flex and I got to admire my two lucky horseshoes! :D

After my abs, I got inside and drank the cytocell - from what I understand, I have to be on that for a week before noticeable effects take place - but I will say, that all night and this morning - I have FELT bigger and more swollen. I won’t say that I am look bigger, but I certainly feel something different (hopefully, it’s not a change in life! LOL!)

OK, so seeing is believe - yes? Here is an image before I drank the cytonox:

Here’s the image of the SAME arm, 15 minutes AFTER I drank it right before lifting:

Thanks for reading.  :D

First workout: 1/28/09
First workout is in the books of my modified 5×5. Let’s get right to it:
20 minutes before workout, I took 1-scoop of the cytonox. The first thing I can comment on is HOLY COW - it taste just like fruit punch kool-aid!!!
I’ve typically had problem choking down pre-workout drinks (mixed), but this was a nice transition! I mixed with 6oz cold water and stirred with a fork - at first, I noticed a little clumping - but nothing a little vigorous stirring couldn’t fix! :D Drink fast - becuz it did tend to settle at the bottom - next time I’ll stir alot more!

I had taken NoXplode and stacked Gakic/Nanox9 - but decided to take the recommend tolerance assessment dosage of 1-scoop. Sometimes differnt product do different things to a person’s body. I wanted to see what this would do to mine. I can report now, that no ill-effects occured (thank God!)

To the lift - about 10 minutes into lifting, I started to feel a pretty noticeable pump. As my first two sets of heavy bench were behind me - I started to realize that my vascularity was really becoming visible in my arms and my fatigue time was minimal. Within 45 seconds of my last set, I was ready to jump back on kick out the next set with no problems. My focus was on point as well - I didn’t have any jitters or "wired" sensations, but I wasn’t like super-intense focused either. I believe that had to do with the dosing amount (tonight’s workout, I will kick it up to two-scoops and see where we land).

The exercises where I noticed the most difference was my heavy set of stiff-legged deadlift and full squats. On the full-squats, my legs never got a fatigue burn (which I usually get immediately when working within 75-80% of my 1-Rep max). Not this time and I was able to kick out each and every set with what I felt was relative ease.

What’s up with this?!?!? Bench was kicked out easily - full squats the same - each lift is being done within 75-80% of my 1-RM?!? That shouldn’t be!!! But it was!

Then came the heavy set of stiff-legged deadlift. The first rep on the first set and my back and hams were like: "What…the…hell…are you doing?!?!?"
after the first set I was seriously thinking that I wasn’t going to be able to finish all 5 sets. I muscled through the second set with a little bitching. But then the 3rd rolled around and something just kinda clicked - I started to feel abit more motivated about the lift. The 3rd set I hit a total stride and kicked it out with ease. Ok…I’m down with it. 4th set - BAM! Nailed it. 5th set up….and DOWN! Looks like I’m increasing the weight for next workout!

The next instance where I felt an intensified focus/motivation was on the 1×50 concentration curls. These were nothing short of intense. I felt like I hit a wall on the 28th rep…but I started to verbally motivate myself (C.J. was making funny of me at this point) - but as I continued to muscle through (verbally and physically) I started to realize I was soldiering on desperate the intense burning. Looking down at my arms, I could really tell a difference in the veins - blood was in no short supply!!!

Immediately after my lift, I took 1-scoop of the cytocell. Fruit punch kool-aid again! I didn’t hit the whey protein drink like I normally do, becuz the directions called for an empty stomach - so I hit the showers and 20 minutes later I’m eating my dinner.
The only side-effect I can attribute to the cytocell is alittle bit of gas - but L-Glutamine always does that to me.

With 4 hours in between when I took the post-workout dose, I took the before bedtime does of cytocell….waited 30 minutes, then ate 1-cup of cottage cheese and then hit the hay.

Overall, I felt pretty good about this lifting day - I am forced to increase all weights for every exercise - even the ones that I felt I couldn’t. I am looking forward to full-dosage today and will report back on my findings! Thanks for reading!

Sponsored product and missed workouts! It must be Wednesday!

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Ok, so I missed the first workout of the modified 5×5 workout - but we are picking up today and the 3rd workout without a hitch! (provided I can dodge the damn flu - seems like everyone is catching it!)

It was 8 degrees this morning, but it has warmed up to a balmy 36! So the home gym should be a sweltering jungle……yeaaaaaa.riiiiiiiiiight.

But good news: Cytogenix selected me to do a supplement log on their Cytogenix Stack! You can check it out here: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=113748411

I’m pretty excited to try it out - so tonights workout will be doubling fun: new workout with the new max numbers, new product….life is decidely gooooood!

5×5 modified begins today!

Monday, January 26th, 2009

…and wouldn’t you know it - we’re having an ice storm! LOL! Well, nothing quite as bad as last year, but certainly nothing that’s gonna want me out in the freezing ass garage! But that’s where my gym equipment is, so guess where I’ll be tonight….in the freezing ass gym! Heheh…

In other news, today I start the third phase of my workout and we’re finishing up with heavy 5×5 routine! Can’t wait! I am also incorporating a "get bigger arms" routine where I do 1×50 bicep exercise and 1×50 tricep exercise in the morning and then again in the evening, every day (save Saturday and Sunday). This was based on a recommendation that I read in Muscle & Fitness, so I decided to incorporate it in my workout week as well. I’ll let you know how it goes!

Busting my ass….just not in the gym!

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

So I have a massive deadline for next Monday - I’ll be here at work today, tomorrow and Sunday for a Monday launch - and although, I am excited for the project - I have to admit that I am DYING to get into the gym! I and the other guys are taking the rest of the week off (since we maxed out this week) in preparation for our modified 5×5 workout. I can’t wait!!!

I’m also trying to get a hold of an affordable hip/weight belt so I can load on the weight for my chest dips and widegrip pullups. Gonna need em!

Oh and good news: I finally got some NORMAL cottage cheese. Hmmmm Hmmmm gooooood! LOL!

Final sets of 1-rep maxes determined

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

Ok, so I finished up the last few maxes last night - and although the numbers aren’t earth shattering like Monday - they are still solid gains! I think when compared to months like Oct., they are rock solid. So here goes:

October numbers are:

Bicep Curl (barbell): 100lb
Barbell Row: 181lb
Barbell Overhead Press: 95lb

Last night’s numbers are:

Bicep Curl (barbell): 125lb - 20% increase
Barbell Row: 210lb - 13.9% increase
Barbell Overhead Press: 148lb - 35% increase

So there it is! Next week we start the modified 5×5 workout for 3-4 weeks. Can’t wait!!!

Clean eating continues - Week three!

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Ok, so I’m in the groove I figure - I was doing well to record each individual day - but since my meals are all starting to look the same, I thought I could just save everyone (ok…just me) some time by saying: I’m doing good and being disciplined with the eating!

It all comes down to discipline - a perfect example would be after I came home from work - my wife was napping and I was alittle hungry. It would have been pretty easy to reach for the tortilla chips and salsa and chase it all down with a beer…..instead, I made packet of maple and brown sugar oatmeal with a single scopp of whey and 1/4tsp of chocolate syrup. Not only was it filling, it was actually pretty good! This coming from a guy that has one of the sweetest tooth’s (teeth) in the world - IF I CAN DO, ANYONE CAN!!!

More Maxes tonight!! Can’t wait!

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

So tonight we hit the rest of our lifting 1-rep maxes! On the plate will be Shoulder Press, Bent Over barbell row and bicep curl (barbell). We are also planning on tackling the incline bench max again, becuz we think that by doing the flat bench max first and going all balls-out, we kinda expended our intensity and power in that lift and it jipped up on our incline. Hopefully, my shoulders will be game after the military press!

I am also thinking we’ll do plyo-push up claps maxes for overall fitness. Woohoo!
