this may be the wierdest thing I’ve experienced. Last week I went 3 days that I couldnt sleep… finally mid week I pass out good and wake up thursday with severe back pains (I knew I pinched my lower back slightly in the gym earlier that week.) It was nothing crazy, but I had decided to skip back workouts for the week just in case. So i blamed the pain on that.. it got progressively worse to the point where I had to get pain killers in me. 2 days later, I wake up and the pain goes away, then immediately shifts to my shoulders and wrists.. which both all of a sudden were sore as hell. The wrists felt like they would after a day of straight bar curls to the max.. and the shoulders felt like both my rotator cups were damaged. So I get through another day, and the pain goes to my fingers, and I can’t make a fist with me left hand, and all of a sudden my knees are killing me. Today, my shoulder pain is subsiding and the left knee.. which was the bad one is feeling good, and now all of a sudden the right knee pain is unbearable.

I dont know bout you, but I’ve never had a joint problem that moves around every day like a worm in my body. Im trying to convince myself that im sick and this is just some wierd sympton of a strange cold.. but im at the end of frustrated.. i want to get back in the gym, but I feel brittle and like I’ll just break.

Im yet to make my decision, as Im waiting for a call back from my instructor. But to lay the facts, I took this course, which cost upwards of $600. It was comprehensive, and ended with 100 question multiple choice and a practical. The test was a mix of nutrition, anatomy, flexibility, and exercise physiology. Only comments on that was - you needed to actually study. I thought this was good as it was challenging and I was certain that if you didn’t put the effort in you didn’t pass.. for those who do study, thats a plus. The practical consisted of Flexibility Assessments (2), Streches (5), warm up (1), and weight training (3). (# of choices) …

So I wait over a month for my results, get a 89 on the test, and did everything correct, except they say I did 1 assessment wrong. Which gave me a 40% for that section of 2 items, and failed me on me practical. The result - after I call in $50 retest fee and 2 hr drive to a work out world to retake 1 minute stretch.

Yes this is frustrating, and upsetting to someone who studied very hard. But thats life.. when you fail you fail and you must work to pass or just give up… I scheduled to take the test this sunday.

When I started looking at my notes, I was startled to see that I did the flexibility assessment they specified for me correct, and yet the girl marked that I did some completely different thing. I called the instructor this morning and am waiting for the call back…

Im not 99% sure, im 100% sure I did it correct. I can even visualize being there.

So now what? do I basically admit to being a failure, cheater and lier and go pay $50 and take a test again that I passed? Or do I stand up for myself, and see where this goes.

I’ve decided that It would belittle me to compromise ethical values and just pay to get this now seemingly horrible situation out of the way.

so thats my situation. Im hoping this guy calls me. I am going to explain this situation above and ask what he reccommends. I fear that he may say he can’t do anything about it.. if he does.. its going to be go time on bashing WITS program… However, I must wait to see how they deal with the possiblity of an employee error.

so, for the last month, i’ve made abs a priority.. I mean really working them.. 3-4 times a week, instead of the quick 1-2 times before a workout… I’ve noticed major strength increases, and my leg lifts are now done with a 4 pound ball instead of just body weight. When I push around my fat, I feel a rock hard set of abs underneath.. but Im wondering at 12% body fat, should they all be showing already? or do I need to get to around 8-10… im shooting for that BF %, but Im also hoping I dont get there and realize.. I needed to be working my abs even harder to make them bigger and more pronounced…

Guess im kind of talking to myself, but if you have any clues on finding abs… give me some feedback.

so, I’ve always been a proponent of low carb dieting.. Carbs.. they were the enemy… till I reached my last rut.. I just didn’t have the energy I wanted in the gym, and was feeling like a I was making anything happen new at the gym. For the last month I’ve added in 2 now critical parts of my new diet, and think they have made the difference. In the morning, I wake to a large swig of gatorade followed by a fruit (half a grapefruit, or an orange)

preworkout, I’ve added an orange, and post workout I’ll drink half a gatorade right away.

I’m still loading the protein in, and have noticed that this 1-2 bottles of gatorade and 2-3 pieces of fruit a day, have not caused any weight gain. If anything, Its making me feel as if I’m burning more calories per day, and I’ve increased my energy levels significantly.

so, I say.. go fast digesting carbs.. but keep them and the bulk of what you eat around workout time… save the fasting and calorie counting for other times..

ok, I dont blog that much, but I have to say my weakest body part is my legs, and I really want to start hitting them hard in the gym. Problem is that I snowboard and surf, and cant stand that if I work out the legs, I can hardly walk for the rest of the week. I had taken a couple of weeks off to enjoy the whole being able to run thing,.. and just got back into my legs this tuesday, and only did squats and leg presses.. was only a 30-40 minute workout, and its friday and im walking around like a gimp.

whats the deal? is it because my legs are so weak? or is it because Im hitting them up too hard?

wierd situation.. because my weekend is now shot because of the leg workout, and you wont see me doing anything physical..
