What..eerrr..where is my water gain?

After all I DID carbload. I ate popcorn, rice crispy treats, meringue cookies…Oh yeah i had high fiber breads and potato etc etc..I just felt it important to mention the junk food first because it tasted better. So, the scale this morning says………178…….maybe tomorrow? Tho tomorrow is a low carb day again.

Fat 47* felt like I was missing out on fats….2 weeks ago this would have been a high day of fats.

Carbs 224 *I was told to have 100 grams extra which would have put me at 250 but I was to have the majority of them around my workout. I workout at 7 p.m. In 2 weeks on my next reload I will drink the carbs with the weights.

Protein 189 * One day 189 will be my weight and I will be around 15% BF…..and I will still like pink and puppies *sticking tongue out*

I had to do antagonist sets with the last 3 rack pulls because I was pressed for time. My shoulder did ok with 40lbs. I would like a spot for 45lbs, please? By the last set of inclines and rack pulls my forearms wanted to know what the hell was happening to them.

Ok now my shoulder seems ok still but why the HELL does 110 feels so heavy to me?

Cable Flies 3×8

My shoulder started grinding on the last 2 sets. Ok it has never behaved so poorly before with the grinding. I was not happy. I was however, pain free till I rested the arm on the bike handles for the sprint portion of the HIIT. Then it ached but nothing catastrophic…the shoulder will live another day.

Ok so my workout for July 28th 2007

Let me first explain again…I was not working yesterday. For those who are just tuning in, I work in a gym. Have you ever gone to a new gym before? Your gym is your HOME. We love our own home, we feel safe and comfy in our own gym, right? I had to workout in a new gym yesterday. I felt like I showed up for dinner uninvited and had to eat with a whole new culture. *looking around* "You guys eat food like this right? This is how I eat…" Can you feel what I am saying here? You pickin’ up what I’m puttin down? As I did my workout tho I saw the typical things you see in a gym anywhere across the body budiling/fitness world…..yep that is right, mindless counts of bicep curls.

So..I set up my weight rack, put on my gloves and did my own workout.

Ok so during my workout yesterday I felt like an aerobic instructor trying to pick up a real weight. I was weak and dorky. Well, it is because before my workouts I had only eaten about 900 calories…..WTF is wrong with me? Oh right, starvation!

Cals 1458 (Really, I mean how planned out was this day!?!?)

Fat 70 ( I get better and better daily with increasing dietary fat while lowering bodyfat…Susan Powter SCREW OFF!)

Carbs 46 (Over by one damn gram)

Fiber was 16 tho

Weight is stable at 180 Omron went down 1%

Workout for July 25th 2007

Half hour Volleyball. It was scheduled for an hour but I was playing with teenagers who would not stop complaining and catching the ball…..yes CATCHING the ball. So in my selfishness I waited till I was sufficiently winded then ended the game to take them all into the weight room.

Now, about the donuts. I had a dream last night that my husband and I went to a local donut shop. You know, the kind of donut shop which only exists in your dreams. I ordered for myself 6 or 7 various frosted donuts of different flavours and ate them right there in the shop. Here is the kicker, in my dream I looked very fit and defined. After I ate them all I told the shop owner that it was my refeed day LMAO!!!

Ah…so without further conversation let me give a shout out to all the Krispy Kremes in the world this morning. I love you and am thinking about you.

French Vanilla and Front Squats

First before I go on a tirade of hates about the front squats SO MANY OF YOU PEOPLE LOVE *said with extreme sarcasm* let me go over my eats for yesterday.

Food for July 24th 2007

Cals 1648 *I know we had decided to increase this amount. I just ended up low…which could be why I hate front squats.

Fat 61 G’s BABY!!! *This I will explain further down

Fiber 38 *see how I add notes to every nutritional quota but this one? You’re welcome.
Carbs 132 Ok I am either one or the other, this blending of cabrs and fats and proteins and life and the stock market and the monkey in my closet has me befuddled. (befuddled..my old lady word of the day)

Front Squats 5×5 heavy (I feel stating heavy here is misleading)
95-100-105-110-105 Ok I could not get my groove with this last night. My guess is it is all the reduced cals this week vs last weeks 125. I had the bar higher so the tender spots are higher now. I know the form was great because I can stare at myself in the mirror while I do it. (hey! this could explain the dream I had last night!)

80-80-80 I went deeper with this weight because it did not roll around on my shoulder bone.

160-160-160 I really need to find a small volunteer to stand on the weight stack for me with this….my boss and I discussed getting a GHR last night! She was given 20K to spend on new equipment. (See America WE DO USE OUR TAX DOLLARS FOR GOOD!) However she had no idea what a GHR was before she ordered so she asked me to keep it in mind for "next time" Hey, I am a parent, I know what "next time" means.

On to DYNAMIC WARM UPS!!! *super hero theme song*

I did 20/40 last night for 5 intervals. I asked one of the boat Doc’s to join us so he could get a better grasp of HIIT.  He did really well and kept up great so there was no opportunity to call him names ;) We followed up with 10 minutes SS at moderate sweat intensity.

After the workout I went to have my workout eats and had no time to nuke them. So I grabbed a cup of Special K cereal  (I had better get a damn endorsement check from them). I had to stop at the store on the way home from work for milk and sundries. So, to add to the sundries I purchased avacados (shout out to Built), sliced almonds (shout out to Ileen), flax seeds and my fav staple, cottage cheese. I know the flax seed has a marketing scheme of omegas etc..but my exctiment was 10 G’s of fiber in 3 tblspoons. I mean, WOOHOO right? So I came home and slammed a new recipe together….

1 cup 1% cottage cheese

3 tbls flax seed

1/4 c slice almonds

1 tbls sugar free French Vanilla Cafe General Foods International coffee (second endorsement check, please)

I mixed it all up and OMG YUM!  So even tho the French gave us french fries..I still want to thank them for a darker shade of vanilla flav for artificial tastes.

they send out more burst of fire and excitement…scale is now at 179(178 if you count the after potty weight) I thought for sure after the carbs yesterday the scale would be either stalled or back up again….

95(8)-165-175-180-180  Ok I did 195 last week fully fed. 180 was hefty for sure but not enough to kill my forearms etc. I just could not go heavier. DAMN YOU LOW CARBS! YOU  ARE MY KRYPTONITE!

65-75-80  Ok it took me a while to get the shoulder to feel right with these.  I should have gone to 90 with the last set. I tried reverse grip etc…

Incline Cable Fly 5×5

Low incline DB press 3×8

25-30-35 These felt pretty heavy too! ARGH!

HIIT 8 seconds of insane glory for 4 minutes then 10 min SS……I kept the 10 SS more intense because I should have done more like 7 minutes of the HIIT. I will work on 7 minutes the next time around!

So, scale down, food went up slightly…weight lifts went down…earth still rotates and you still can’t wear white after Labour day.

Workout for July 22nd 2007

On the Seventh Day Moe Rested. 

Week One Summary:

I average about 1565 in cals, pro. avg 162, carb avg. 118, fat avg 54.

I felt so much better Sunday after my body decided it was ok to let go of carbs in my diet.  I was able to add more fats in the day and make it a more balanced day with foods. I also ate the best burger salad ever (Thank you Mr. Jeanson!) As some of you had noted to me, my fats were too low. I was struggling with Susan Powter PSTD as well as BFFM 20% mentalities. However, since none of those programs are for getting ripped lean, I need to let go of some long term prejudice I have against fats….so yesterday, as you can tell by my food diary…I embraced the mayonnaise, nuts, red meats etc.

I weighed last Monday at 189 after a lot of food over that previous weekend. I am at 181-182 today. No digital readout here :) My official start weight was 185 because that would be after the extra weekend water etc was gone. I won’t record a loss as of yet because the scale is down, the omron is up (glycogen depletion, right?) and I want to let the carbs slowly seep back in before I call the winner.

I am excited to have a slice of whole wheat high fiber toast with PB…….

So, nothing amazing to tell. Oh wait..the scale will be looked at tomorrow. I was 184 on Thursday right before depleting my body of every last drop of carbohydrates that I could hold……so let’s see what the scale says right before I cram 4 ounces of sweet potato in my mouth!

Today I am resting. I am not sure what that will entail but I have wonderful visions of laying around on the couch watching movies as if I had the flu.

:side note:…DH brought me a coffee just now..it has milk in it so I had to turn it down..and he rolled his eyes :( he will not be complaining when people are all DAYUM GREGG! THAT is your wife!?!?
