Running Up the Bulldog

It’s the "motto/slogan" of the Bulldog 50K.  I had the pleasure of doing the event this past weekend.  AWESOME event!!! If you live on the west coast and you are an ultra runner (I’ve seen posts so I know there are some here) you should really try this event.  It is held in Calabasas, CA at the Malibu Creek State Park.  This is a 2 loop course for the 50K.  You can also opt to do one loop (25K).  It is known for its challenging hill.  And I say hill as in only one (although there are some rolling hills also).  But the Bulldog Mountain is an awesome 4-mile climb of about 2500 ft. of elevation (not BHS…if you’ve done that one but still a good climb).  If you do the 50K you get to climb the Bulldog twice…sweet!!  This was my first year doing the event and I hear the weather was nice for this run … at least for the 1st loop.  It started to heat up during the 2nd loop but nothing extreme, unless you’re not from these parts ;-)

Just wanted to pass the word on for those ultra runners looking for a challenging but fun event….give this one a look.  http://www.trailrunevents.com/bd/index.htm

edit:  Forgot to ask…anyone doing Javelina this year?
