Hey Girl,
Sounds like plan!! I feel your pain; I started physical therapy school last year and gained 20 easy in one semester. I’m supposed to be some kind of fitness professional and I look like sH%t! Personal training is pretty much the only work I can do since school is full time and I need a flexible job. The motivation that I get from this site has helped me lose about 10 pounds so far (I’ve been a member for about 6 weeks).
You can totally do it; the people on this site are really supportive and knowledgeable. Congrats on your marathon!! You’ll be feeling better in no time. If you plan on doing another one and have any questions on training and such, drop me an email and I can definitely help.
Hang in there,
DAVE
Hello Junot,
Well done and congratulations on completing your marathon, where did you run it and what time did you do?
I took up running in March 2007, I stopped playing Rugby and Hurling (Our National Sport in Ireland) in 2005, I did no exercise and training due to injury and laziness since a gave up team sport and put on 27lbs, I decided to train for the Dublin Marathon in March and completed it in 4hrs 30mins, It was a fabulous achievement and I know only too well how you are feeling after, I am sure the sense of achievement is helping with the pain. I have since completed the Paris Marathon last April and I am entered in the Berlin Marathon next September.
Well done also on your graduation, another major achievement, I also went back to college by night for 4 years when I was working full time to complete my degree, not easy as I was made redundant from two jobs during those 4 years.
I am delighted for you that you are on the right track and staying positive about life, it is also great that things are coming together for you after a difficult time with many sarcrifices, it is always nice to see a triumph after a struggle.
Best of luck with te rest of your goals as I have no doubt you will achieve them given what you have achieved so far.
Take Care,
Tom
Yes! School and marriage will do that! (Ok, don’t have personal experience with the marriage bit, but that is what I hear!). BUT I am in school, and it is a struggle to fit in eating clean and my workouts! If you don’t have one already, invest in a fairly large cooler bag and some cold packs to bring your food in… Sooo, I saw that you have a medal with Rock & Roll Marathon on it? The one in San Diego, right? I did that during its first year, and it was a blast! How are things going now that it’s been one month since your last posting???
