u sure u gonna be getting lots of mass with the push ups?

I do push-ups every morning, they might not add to the mass, but for sure defines your chest, help in the size your triceps, and deltoids.
Keep pumping heavy and smart plus free hands exercise and yes it will keep your size and definition.
