We’re close to the end now, been deployed 13 months so far - about one left. Can’t wait to get back to a real sleep schedule and a full gym. Moving around so much, some gyms were great, some are a tent with a few weights scattered about. It makes you get creative, for sure.
I love all the guys with me. Working together, living together, and hanging out together - I trust them all with my lives. It’s a bond few will ever understand. Working out has been a savior when the stress and bullshit levels get too high, or when the mission requires you to scale a fence with 50 lbs of gear.

I didnt check the weather report, but it’s over 110 F today - some like it hot. Heavy chest today! 355 is going up for sure. A drag - only caught 3 hours of sleep, had to get things done this morning. Then tonight, find time to rucksack march a couple miles before the SOQ competition I’m competing in (pushups/situps/rucksack march/stress shoot/CTP/board).

Cheesy title was necessary. It’s 5:22 AM, and I’m about to head to bed after an all-night mission. Today was a huge day. This current schedule we’re on hits rough, but it’s good for gym times. I got 500 up on the deadlift, which I hit a plateau of 405 a while back - spent 2 months going lighter, with higher reps (225 x 20 reps, 315 x 8-10) and looks like it worked. I did not get a run in today, which is a drag….tomorrow is another day.
