The grind of life….

Its hard sometimes to always stay upbeat about anything in life sometimes, but then you add in something like making sure you stay up on your diet and workouts, sometimes it sucks. I love working out, I love the diet part of it (when you see results, LOL) but sometimes, SOMEDAYS, it just feels old….But the only thing I know how to do, is press on….PRESS THROUGH IT. I know that its just a rut, and ruts end sooner or later…I like to believe that saying, "Nothing ever gets THAT bad"….Like I said, I "like" to believe it, but sometimes I wonder. Somedays while I am leaning out I feel great, I see results, vascularity, striations, cuts, ALL THAT….then somedays I feel like I weight 100 lbs and am starving myself…I know its mental though. You got to grind it out….Its therapy for me in the most part. Its funny, life can suck sometimes, so what do I do to make me feel better…I beat on my body by lugging weights over and over and deny my body of carbs and calories…..JUST TO MAKE ME MENTALLY BETTER:-) Life is funny huh

So with maintenance of diet do you ever cheat or you stay clean 100% of the time? Do you feel like if you dig into something unhealthy but oh so tasty you will see the effects in your physique?

Well Josh I hear ya, it hit me being in my late marriage, you just need to step back and refocus sometimes, find a new goal. You must aways have those goals, just not the long term ones but the short one you can reach week to week or every other, they keep that drive up. Or maybe your missing out on something else, I’m not sure what your love life is like, but sometimes a lack of one or a stressful one will flood mixed emotions into other aspects of your life. Your right though ruts do and will end, but your the one who has to take charge to end them.

I hear ya loud & clear on the daily grind. The heart, mind & soul get worked to failure over & over & over & over & over again every day. But if it was easy everyone would look like "that". Its not easy.

The late Randy Pauch, in his "Last Lecture", made mention of "the brick walls" and that they are not there to keep you out but rather there to keep out those who REALLY don’t want in.

    Climb the wall again tomorrow…

I hear ya man. I’ve been there MANY days myself.

I guess all I would say is just try not to be too hard on yourself about it all. I know you’re pretty good about staying light about it, but sometimes we can still get so "lost" in our routines that it becomes all we know. It becomes who we ARE and we don’t know anything else. I still struggle with this, too. Just make sure you’re MORE than JUST a weight lifter and you’ll be fine.

Thanks for all the great motivation, Josh. Keep us posted!
