Trainer???
I’m thinking of hiring a trainer…I feel like I might not be pushing myself & just need someone to "kick me around", so to speak. I could train with my best friend but we’re too close & would just socialize way too much to beneficial to one another. It’s not for lack of motivation or anything- my heart’s in the right place, my knowledge base is in it’s infancyb so I’m a bit overwhelmed by all that I’ve read. I was approached by someone at the gym tonight that looked legit, but I’m not sure what else to look for otherwise. Anyone can be certified - some of the best teachers in the world do not have that piece of paper so I’m really not concerned about that. Other than asking him to lift his shirt up, I don’t have a clue, LOL…
…I’ll go through with one session & see if I feel "broken" by the end, enough so to continue…wish me luck!!!

Observe the trainers at your local gym watch their eyes and their mannerisms, make sure they are completely focused on the client and nothing else in the gym. I wish you the best of luck

I’ve seen a real good friend through 2 trainers so far. Neither one worked out for her - and she had others before that. It’s really up to what your goals and priorities truly are. Then try to match them up with a trainer’s successes - usually by checking out reviews or comments. Unfortunately a lot of it is trial and error - advice: sign up for something short term until you’re comfortable.

I personally think that you can change your ways in the gym and effectively become your own trainer. I have never been one to write my gym routine down. But I recently found that writing it down and adding variety to my routine works very well. I am very anti-social when I go to the gym. Hat on, head down, headphones in. Anyway…no matter which path you take as long as you are committed to your goals and extend your best effort is all that matters
