No Trainer for me….

I’ve decided that I’m doing fine on my own. I’m just impatient & impulsive. I met a trainer, but I’m so turned off by his sale….just money hungry…..I got sick this weekend, something like a "mini flu", so I’m completely exhausted & running on about half a tank of gas & all he is asking is when I think I’ll be ready to start with him…how the hell would  I know….When my body’s ready it’s ready….

….I don’t have money to throw away….nor do I care to play the Nice girl all the time who sticks with some snake oil salesman so as not to hurt someone’s feelings….

As soon as I feel able I’ll be back on my grind, solo ….I got some pretty nice complements today which boosted my confidence in my own ability :)

Trainer???

I’m thinking of hiring a trainer…I feel like I might not be pushing myself & just need someone to "kick me around", so to speak. I could train with my best friend but we’re too close & would just socialize way too much to beneficial to one another. It’s not for lack of motivation or anything- my heart’s in the right place, my knowledge base is in it’s infancyb so I’m a bit overwhelmed by all that I’ve read. I was approached by someone at the gym tonight that looked legit, but I’m not sure what else to look for otherwise. Anyone can be certified - some of the best teachers in the world do not have that piece of paper so I’m really not concerned about that. Other than asking him to lift his shirt up, I don’t have a clue, LOL…

…I’ll go through with one session & see if I feel "broken" by the end, enough so to continue…wish me luck!!! :)

Training Day…Greeaaattt!!!

Over the past weekend I started reading BodyRX, it seems like a great book so I decided to incorporate some to its suggestions into a formalized routine for me. Prior to this, I was just all over the place. My gym is getting extremely crowded as of late(Planet Fitness $10 a month!!! who could resist, LOL). This may sound silly & should have seemed logical a long time ago but it feels good to actually go with a plan. I don’t know why I ever made something so simple, so complicated. I’m learning so much from the book & this website, so in time the results I’m hoping to realize should be evident, as I realized that there is no one size fits all solution to results. I have to be patient & figure out what right for me at my own pace. Trying to mimic other people’s routines/diets won’t get me to wear I want to be. I’m implusive, so I wanted instant result using minimal effort.

…My impulsiveness lead me to try Whey Protein & cottage cheese for the first time a few weeks ago. Looking at other people’s supplement sections, I noticed nearly everyone uses Whey &/or eat cottage cheese….low & behold,"miss-know-it-all, thinks-she’s-so-smart-because-she reads," didn’t do enough(or any really) research to notice that although I’m allergic to milk…failed to pay attention to where Whey’s/cottage cheese derived from…& started ingesting both around the same time….BBBBiiiiiiiigggg mistake….plagued by dizzy spells, seaonal allergy symptoms(which I haven’t had a problem with since I stopped drinkin milK) & after having my throat nearly close up on me after…I did some research & discovered that the after two weeks of indgesting both culprits, Whey & cottage chesse(casein) are the actual proteins that cause milk allergy symptoms  :…( - So, I’ve wasted money on worst things…you live & you learn .

Sunday Dinner….

….all I had was one slice of Chocolate cake & a little Butter Peacan..made me sleep unusually unfortablly & .completely drained me all day Monday…I was barely holding it together all day at work. It’s so weird how once you start clean eating all it takes is one meal to completely throw you off. The only good thing that came from this derailment was the sudden craving for healthy foods immediately. Nothing too hight in starch, simple sugars or salt. Coffee was the only thinng that could perk me up all day, but even that makes me jittery.

…It’s Monday so it’s always a great staring point, especially if your trying to eat healthfully…I’m returning to my usual…boring but at least I know what to expect moodwise.

Wedding Weekend

I just came back from the West Coast(Portland), where I had a wedding to attend(Stevie Wonder made a special appearance to serenade the Bride & Groom!!!! So cool), complete with dinners every night & a very long wedding day. It wasn’t so bad though - I met a lot of really nice people. I thought that I was going to spend most of my time eating out but both un/fortunately I was so tired most of the trip that I was either sleeping like a baby or eating mostly fruit(as that was the only thing that didn’t upset my stomach) Tried to drink but it just did not agree with me this trip. The hotel’s fitness room was perfect for me - I brought along my Wheybolic 60 protein(which helps tremendously during workouts) & had a few good workouts)

…Actually I sleep so well in Portland, that  I was actually outright jealous of the mattress. It was this weekend where it dawned on me the importance of sleep on my body. My chronic sleep disordered behavior /back pain which I had always believed was attributed to a hard workout or not sleeping enough, dissipated while sleeping in the hotels bed. I get back home, slept over 10hrs & bad back was killing me again….It was my mattress…I brought a bottom of the line mattress(with my furniture set) 4 years ago was meaning to replace it one day but never thought about it enough to do anything about it.

….First thing I did as soon as I woke up today was brought me a new mattress(I’m really impulsive)…comes tomorrow!!!…wish me luck!!!

It’s a Beautiful Day

I love days like today….In NY it started out snowing and cold…then by early afternoon it was cloudy & still cold…following by a late afternoon where everything was dry, the sun was shining & I swear it was one of the most beautiful afternoons of my life…Corny I know - but as I was leaving the office all I could think about was how symbolic of life today was and how on any given day it could start out like shit, but totally change in such an unexpected way.

I couldn’t get in my usual 2 mile walk today before work(I work in NY,NY-so I get off my train early & walk to midtown- same going home)…but I ate clean all day and had loads of energy in the afternoon for my second 2 mile walk…Didn’t make it to the gym, but I love to dance in my apt…

….Had such a great day that I decided to do what I’ve been wanting to do, but couldn’t find the time(or courage, lol)  JOIN THIS SITE!!! It’s awesome & the people I’ve meet so far rock.

If anyone has any advice for the new girl Holla!!!…Have a great weekend everyone (ll & <3 )
