Well, I fractured my patella (kneecap) the other night, so I’ll be out of the gym for quite a while. I am not yet sure if I’ll be having surgery, but will hopefully know something in a few days. There is a chance that no surgery will be required, but that all depends on the amount of displacement that I have sustained. I am pretty depressed about all this, especially since I don’t have a for sure chance of coming back strong (Apparently knee injuries are a complicated thing.) For anyone who may read this, who has experienced this type of injury, please let me know how you situation played out. I hope to be back in a few months. That’s it for now.

Well, I’ve finally decided to accept the fact that as long as I am bulking, I can kiss the idea of seeing my ab muscles goodbye. I’ve always know that this was going to be the case, but I thought that perhaps I could be the exception. I am going to concentrate on bulking, and nothing but bulking for at least the next 4 months. I’ll worry about the abs in the spring.

Well, everything is still moving right along. I am up a couple more pounds, and should reach my "end of the year" weight goal of 180 lbs, by the end of this month (October.) I am obviously putting on some body fat during this bulking phase, but I am trying to keep it as minimal as possible, by bulking fairly clean. I know that I am sacrificing fast weight gain by doing this, but I think that I’ll be happier in the long run. I must say that I am crediting a lot of my weight gain to the Muscle Milk Collegiate formula, it is the best stuff that I have ever tried (90 grams of carbs and only 5 grams of sugar!) The hardest part of all this is keeping myself motivated to eat as I should, going to the gym is the easy part. That’s it for now.

I’ve decided to get back into the gym and take control of my health and fitness. I’ve always been naturally thin and have had trouble putting on any kind of weight at all, much less muscle. I have very long limbs, I am narrow, I have a super charged metabolism, and to make things worse, my work schedule makes it hard to eat like I should. Basically, if you were to look up an ectomorph in the dictionary, you will probably find a picture of me. Having said that, I refuse to allow my less than steller genetics, and "hargainer" classification to become an excuse. I am hoping to keep a current journal of my workouts and nutritional information, so that other guys that are walking in my shoes might be able to benifit from my trials and errors. I have included progress pictures on "MyBodySpace" and will continue to post new ones as I make progress.
