Going Downhill

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

I felt pretty good this morning and went to work as usual. I had a CPR/AED class to take around lunchtime and that went fine. I ate lunch then it all went downhill. By 3pm I had a fever. Advil doesn’t seem to be working. My only other choice is aspirin since I am allergic to anything containing Tylenol.
Needless to say I am not working out today. I am so hardcore about not missing at all it took me about an hour to decide to pass for a day.

Thanks to all who asked how I was doing today.

Egads! I Finally Got It

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

I ended up getting the office cold. Woke up congested an coughing. I don’t feel all that bad except for the cough. I stayed home to rest and so I wouldn’t have to talk (the more I cough the better chance it will trigger my asthma). Will probably forego intense cardio this afternoon but will still workout a bit.
At least I didn’t get the office flu.

The Perve Was Back

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

I was about ten minutes into a really hardcore workout when the perve came into the weight room. (I haven’t seen him in a couple of weeks). He did his usual of drift slowly to different machines and using the mirror to stare. I was focused on my workout (a new one from an online trainer I am being a test subject for) as it was timed between sets and the polymetric exercises.
I was on my second go round with barbell squats and turned to find him standing about five feet away staring at me.
I pulled out the earbud and said, Dude, you have got to stop staring. It is rude.
He seemed shocked that I said something and quickly apologized and left.

Why Can’t All Mondays Be Like Today?

Monday, February 25th, 2008

I never know what to expect when I get to the office. I know it will be bad if my cell goes off before I leave home. Today, however, was nice. I spent most of the day in my office training others to use the new electronic purchase order system I set up. Everyone seemed excited about the fact that the process will take lots less time and paper.

To top it off I had a great workout. I didn’t break any personal records or throw up in my gym bag (winking at Bammernhell great story if you haven’t read it) but I worked hard and ended with 45 minutes of cardio.

Cheat Meal Nearly Ruined By Paul Deen

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

I was so grossed out from the show I saw this morning (see previous blog on Grossest Thing I Have Ever See) that I wasn’t very enthusiastic about having my cheat meal tonight. The thought of anything "greasy" brought visions of that "thing" Paul Deen made.
After being talked into going I met some friends and enjoyed some buffalo wings with celery and blue cheese. Not the least bit greasy thankfully. Best cheat meal so far.

The Grossest Thing I Have Ever Seen

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

I was up early (for a Saturday) and off to the gym. Had a decent workout on legs and abs then headed up to the cardio room. The TV in front of me was tuned to the Food Channel. I plugged my earphones in, chose my playlist, and got busy on the elliptical while Paula Dean was busy making something. It wasn’t until she put it all together that I nearly lost it.
IT WAS THE SINGLE MOST GROSSEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN.
A breakfast sandwich made from the following:
A large (and I mean large) sausage patty (think quarter pounder)
A fried egg
Bacon
Between two Krispy Kreme Donuts.

WTF was she thinking?

I’d rather see the guy on the Discovery Channel eat ants.

The End is Near

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

Ending another week and likely will not see any change yet again. ( On the bright side no weight gain) This time I have myself to blame. I didn’t eat as much as I should (skipping mini meals) and I didn’t drink enough water.
I had to adjust my schedule due to company all week long. Although I managed to make all my workouts the eating schedule got a little screwed up. All company leaves tomorrow so I can get back at it on Saturday.

My last set of visitors this week was my baby brother and his wife who last saw me at my heaviest. He was stunned. (I haven’t told any of my (five) brothers I had lost weight even though we email all the time) He said I have inspired him to do something about his weight.

He seemed a little less enthusiastic when I told him he would probably (at the least) limit the beer intake. LOL

Trying New Supplements

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

I ordered some new supplements for BB.com.
Muscle Milk - chocolate malt flavor - Made it with ff milk and can’t say I am crazy about it. Weird aftertaste. I’ll try some ice in with it next to see if it is more palatable or use less of the powder.

CellMass - artic berry blast - Okay but still makes me feel bloated but not as bad as GNC brand. I chose this because it is aspertame free and it requires less water than some of the others. I have a hard time drinking over a few ounces at a time.

BSN Lean Dessert - Chocolate Coconut - saving this one to try tonight.

I really want to like these. Especially the protein mixes since I need more protein. I may just have to stick to the fruit smoothies made with vanilla or banana flavored whey.

Five Things I Miss Most About Being Fat

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

5. The beautiful suits and clothes I used to own. They have all been donated to goodwill. I was left with socks. Everything else has to be replace. I haven’t replaced much of my wardrobe (other than underwear)simply because there aren’t a lot of places here that sell my size in petite. I shop a little each time I go to Atlanta.

4. Eating what ever I felt like when going out. Although I have a cheat meal once a week I still don’t go overboard. (We went out several times a week. Now it is usually only once a week.)

3. Coke and Dr. Pepper. The real stuff not diet. Nothing goes better with pizza or a burger. I never drank very much maybe three a week (I drank unsweet ice tea most of the time which I have cut out completely as well).

2. Not Being Cold. Unless it is 75 degree or higher and I am in the sun I am cold. I wear some type of jacket all the time.

1. My Boobs. I had 38Cs at 164 pounds. I have 36B’s now. I will probably end up with 34B’s by summer. I’m lucky I have no sagging and I can always ‘buy’ some if they get too small.

If you are wondering what brought this line of thought up it was my  hubby’s comment that I didn’t have much to hold on to anymore. He went on to say he didn’t mind my weight (when I was fat) since "It’s not like I had to lift rolls of fat to find what I was looking for." Then he asked how much smaller my boobs were going to get. I said I did miss the old size but that could be fixed without getting fat again.

The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

The Good: Lost another pound which makes a grand total of 50. I’ll do bodyfat measurement in the morning to see if that lowered a little. Had a great cardio session today doing 40 minutes at a great pace. Got all my protein in today including a steak at Chilis.

The Bad: Didn’t eat enough carbs before working out and forgot my creatine. I haven’t taken in nearly a week and it shows. (I was out of grape juice)

The Ugly: Workout was definitely ugly. I had no strength or energy and I had to lower the weights on most of my sets just to make it through so I focused on form instead.

Tomorrow is another day. It is usually cardio only but I don’t have to work late so I may do a few lifts I didn’t do tonight.
