Holiday Hunger Tips
awesome tips, thanks. Sounds like commonsense, however, most people will still complain about eating and gaining weight. Oh well, to each their own.
One strategy that has worked for me and I use it all the time is the "Oh Yeah Pile it On" approach. Instead of awkward moments drawing lots of attention, I simply let the host or coworker give me a slice of the "special birthday cake for Bob's honor" or whatever, and then mingle, hold the folk, take the tiniest nibble, and then when the cost is clear find the nearest garbage can. No one ever notices how much I "didn't" eat and I don't feel guilty throwing it away either!! I also accept invitations to parties, dinners but fill up on the right foods before I leave the house on my good food so I don't end up somewhere starving and then eating the wrong foods because I'm so hungry. You can eat the healthiest portion for a dinner event and then tell the host it was so wonderful and you really are stuffed but would like to take the rest home for later. Then pitch the fat/no good items.
This website and article help through the holiday season since it's a struggle. And people will make a big issue if you draw attention to everything. Just say "Oh yeah it's the holidays" and don't get into discussions with people who are not supportive and just don't get it.
