The gym is my outlet…regardless of what happens on any given day, that 1 to 2 hours that I spend in the gym is my time and no one can take that away from me. If something was heavy on my mind you might find me in a gym somewhere with the music cranked up and me banging away. The gym has never let me down. You get out of it, what you put into it. Eat, sleep, train. To some it seems kinda shallow. To me it’s life. It is the only moment in the day which is truly yours. Your time. Your body. Your workout. You zone out and forget all the outside bullshit. There are no distractions, no women, no f*cking cell phones Nothing except you and the weights. This is the time of the day that is solely devoted to your well being and improvement. Your workout is the time to kick yourself in the ass and make yourself grow and mature as a bodybuilder.
Outsiders wouldn’t understand because they never experienced The Epidemic. These upper class snobs go to the gym two to three times a week, do cardio for about a half hour then do a total body workout for 15 minutes thinking that they accomplished something. I don’t want to get too big because, you know, if I did what you did, I would be bigger than you. This coming from a middle-aged man who weighs 160 with quarters in his pockets.
You got to give a little to get a lot. F*ck that, you got to give a lot to get a little. You got to give up your late nights out with your friends, going out and getting shit-faced, just so you can go to the gym on a Saturday morning to do legs (who wants to be hung over the day that you have to squat!?!). You know there is no looking back-that it takes the will and the addiction to be in the gym and for people to look at you in confused amazement.
Listen, we are not normal people. We do and think things that most individuals just don’t understand. Getting excited to go to the gym is not a normal thing. But when you get bit by the bug, it is. Each day you train you keep saying to yourself, One more day, one more rep, 10 more pounds. You better yourself everyday and everyday you train is one step closer to the overall. Nobody understands it They can’t fathom it. How long will I strive to be the best? Do I have what it takes to better myself every day? Remember, a champion is never satisfied. Always keep in mind that the road to the top is a difficult one, but remaining at the top of the mountain is the most difficult!

I thought I recognized that! Gotta love anything from Universal or animal pak. I wore my ‘Shut the **** up and train’ shirt to the gym today… gotta love the looks you get in that.
