Spring BREAK!
All the excitement is in my mind, because I’m still here, in Boise, working. No vacations for me, dangit. But I am super excited to use this break to get back on track with the workouts. I’ve been a little off since getting over the flu but I finally was able to get a morning workout in today. I miss being able to workout before work! It wakes me up and kick starts my metabolism, and I just feel alive all day. Since I take night classes a few nights a week, though, I get stuck hitting the gym later in the evening and keeping myself up at night. (I did just start a six-week mountain biking class on Tuesday evenings which is going to be a great switch up for me. And three hours of riding is going to kick my butt — can’t wait!)
When something like spring break rolls around, you realize how different you think compared to the rest of the crowd. The more of an emphasis I put on health in my life, the more my views on EVERYTHING change. I was butt-hurt for a minute when I thought about being one of the few not going somewhere fabulous for spring break, but then I realized how nice it was going to be to get myself back on track, get to the gym early, and use my extra time to get things organized! And when I think about how many people will come back next week hurting, I’ll be a step ahead (hopefully!) for once. We’ll see…
