Well what can I say? I hit 220, 10lbs heavier than last years off season weight…will it make a difference? Only time will tell…started dieting about 4 weeks ago…my trainer has me doing a slower, longer diet…I agree that it seems the best way when you’re trying to do it naturally…all that intense cardio, and no carbs leaves me flat as a pancake every time, plus I lose soooo much size…I hope everything goes according to plan…if it does…I’ll beat the "last version of myself"and that’s enough to make me happy:)

Wow, I tell you eating 6 meals a day is a pain in the ass, especially when you don’t have a porta potty, lol…anyway with the help of digestive enzymes, I’ve been able to keep all the chicken thighs, and double burgers down…I’m really feeling that zero impact shake, it tastes really good, and since I’m in the off season I always throw a carb in there with it. I’m approaching 215 and a hard 215 at that I’m aiming for 230…I’ve been there before so I know it’s honestly about consistancy and diet, time to train hard hopefully I can bring a whole new Jay to the stage next november at the easterns..well I have a lot of good people around me so I don’t see why it can’t happens. When it’s all said and done we’ll see where I place wish me luck

The Eastern USA’s are coming and I got the chance to see some of the athletes who will be competing in this show, all I can say is VERY INSPIRATIONAL…I’ve been really wanting to make some noise on stage, but my lifestyle has been hindering my gains. Quite honestly I love to walk around picture ready with a six pack all year round, but as many of you know..this type of behaviour kills me come contest time…I’m simply to small…so I’ve decided to stop being scared of getting out of shape…say a brief goodbye to my abs…and start eating and training heavier to put on the necessary size to get to the next level..besides I figure after I come back down I’ll be thicker everywhere and could quite possibly be way more impressive than before…I know my mind is going to play a lot of tricks on me especially at my heaviest 225-230 but I’ll just have to stay super focused and keep in mind what lies ahead…wish me luck:)

I wonder if I’m the only one that gets this..you train hard and diet hard for ten to twelve weeks, anxious eagerly anticipating that big day when u get to finally display all of your hard work, and compare your finishing product with everybody elses…then showtime comes, you do what you have to do,and love to do on stage and then it’s over, done,…all that work and that’s it..the event which you’ve been preparing yourself for soooo long is gone…leaving behind only the contest pics and maybe a trophy or two.Of course the next step is to re evaluate your performance and look for ways to come back bigger better and more refined next season..but honestly once the preshow excitement is gone many times I feel a little down…well anyway I’m taking a year to try to improve my back(once again)..and god willing next year my package would have significantly improved from this years

wow..it’s finally almost here..musclemania…I’m excited and anxious..I’m also happy I did the Atlantic States and hope to rectify any mistakes I made there at the miami show…my conditioning is sharpening up sooner as I’m slowly drying out now…cardio is low…and posing will start today…I really need to time my meals to look my best at pre judging..that way I can nail my conditioning and bring my best package for where my physique is at this point…I may post some pics…wish me luck

The Atlantic States was off the hook…Almost every competitor was in shape…I mean everybody really did their homework…and if you didn’t you were’nt placing…what was crazy was I saw some competitors who didn’t place who looked pretty damn good to me…when they called me for top 5 in my class i was honored…the competition in both the Novice and open light heavyweight was fierce…the open was first and i was behind a meal, not carbed up and a little smaller than by the time the novice came…regardless I might have gotten blown out anyway as the open class was ridiculous,in fact the middleweights looked like light heavyweights. So when it was all said and done I placed 5th in the novice, and attained alot of valuable information going into the musclemania in 2 weeks…wish me luck and train hard

…so I’m 4 days out from the Atlantic States and I’m pretty pleased with how everything is going…I just learned that my body is bigger and fuller with low carbs, high fat and high protein…I’m so happy about this as this diet eliminates alot of my cravings. Also I have realised that I may not have to completely eliminate my water intake, since whenever I do so I’m left looking flat and stringy…my last show was a perfect example I was happy with my look days prior to the show…then took a duiretic the night before and completely lost fullness and hardness…I bet I could have eaten whatever and still not fill out( and I tend to be pretty conservative when carb loading…another thing I plan on changing…I’m just ging to fill up as much as I can,cut a little water and see what I look like in the morning then take it from there…wish me luck and keep training hard

Well this diet is not too bad, but I could do with some junk food, lol…everything is sharpening up day by day…just trying to coast into the show shredded…for staying lean in the off season I’m happy with my size and conditioning…if my back could have been a little thicker I’d be even happier…if u get a chance let me know what u think of the newest pics..I will be posting 3 weeks out this weekend…train hard guys and girls, later

I had a talk with a photographer just yesterday(he shoot’s fitness models and bodybuilders),and he said something that made so much sense which was many people fail to pay attention to their own specific genetics, I have learned this to be so true in this last contest prep…when people ask what"s the secret to coming into a show in shape,I’m starting to believe it"s knowing your body and all it’s little quirks…the only way to do this is with time, trial and error…I’ve come to realize for myself for example, that with my active lifestyle 30-45 minutes of cardio a day is just way too much for me…I started a week ago at 15 a day and the results have been great…my theory is when you stop at 15 your body doesnt just stop in fact just like a piece of meat cooking in the oven when it’s removed it still continues to cook….as does your metabolism continue to stay high for the next 10minutes( I imagine)…so I will continue to watch my body going into this show…and unlike last time I really don’t plan on doing anything crazy last minute..If my glutes are shredded, then so be it…if not then I’ll just join the list of pro’s who don’t have shredded glutes, lol…of course I plan to be in shape but not to sacrifice everything just to bring out one bodypart…been there done that…so training is good, and heavy like the off season and I’m just taking out carbs before my last two meals…If I start coming in too soon those carbs before bed go right back in…I guess I’m just experimenting with my body…hey that’s the only way to learn…regardless I plan to bring the best package I can to the Bev..I have to it’s the day before my birthday, lol…till my next blog train hard, later
