Silver Lining

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

I haven’t written in a while. I have been frustrated lately, yet highly motivated at the same time. I am really happy with the way my arms, legs, and chest are toning up; but my abs are still hidden beneath the "spare tire". I know that I store my fat around my gut like the hump on a Dromedary camel. And for that reason I am being patient. I have seen progress, and I am not going to let it discourage me. It just makes me want to work that much harder.

New Temp Routine

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

Started a new routine on Sunday. I work out 6 days a week, different muscle group each day. I will do this for 4 weeks. Then maybe, depending on the preogress, I may go to a day on/day off split with cardio in between. Right now I am having to do cardio after work, because I run out of time at the gym before work.

Chicken Legs? Not me!

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

Today was leg day. I realized today that my legs are the strongest part of my body (in propotion to the % of weight I am lifting with other muscle groups). This is a total contrast to my ole man in his hay day. It was so funny to see this huge upper body with these "chicken legs". I learned alot from him; not only the right way to do things, but the wrong way as well. I aways say, " it is good to learn from your mistakes. But it is even better to learn from others mistakes." The biggest mistake I have made is waiting so long to start my journey to fitness utopia. But as you know it is never too late.

My energy levels are at an all time high. Now I just have to work extra hard so that the rest of my body can catch up to my legs. And I plan on upping the cardio to help get rid of this spare tire. My diet is in order. And as you already know six pack abs are made just as much in the kitchen as in the gym.

Thanks to all of you for your support, and for keeping my motivation levels high. Seeing all of you and your results gives me that much more "umph" in the gym.

First Post

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

This is my first post. I plan on using this blog as a kind of journal. For me to keep up with my workouts and progress. And for maybe someone else to input what I may or may not be doing correctly.

Right now I think I have finally found a meal plan that is working for me. My energy levels are at an all time high. In the gym I have been lifting less weight than I am capable of, but doing several reps each set. In a few weeks I plan to bosst it up and work on the muscle gain. I will be posting specifics of my workouts and diet in later posts.
