Okay, so here’s to motivation and being stubborn!!!
My trainer decided I SHOUDN"T compete in the Northern States Championships…and decided to tell me this news on the Tuesday before the show. I thought, "You’re kidding, right?" All that training, dieting, cardio for nothing? HUH? Well, I told her I was going to compete with…or without her support. And I’m so glad I did! I ended up taking 1st Place in both Master’s and Open-Class Tall Figure!!! It was a great feeling to be true to myself and stick with my plan. I am proud of myself! And I had a great time - it was an awesome show!!!
Now, on the the NPC Northstar on November 1st!!!

This past Monday I almost gave up. I’ve been ill and the meds I take for Crohn’s suppress my immune system - NO GOOD when you’re trying to train hard and prep for a show. My workouts have been lacking up to yesterday. My trainer put me through a brutal leg workout…I needed it! Anyway, the bodyfat is going down and posing is going well, so we (my trainers and I) decided I will be competing on October 18th in the Northern States Nat. Classic and I’m very excited!

Today I attended an NPC seminar - best thing I did! It was so motivational to see some of the other competitors and get inspiration from the pros putting it on! Christine, you rock girl!!!
My diet and cardio are going great so far and my trainers say we’re on track. It’s so difficult to judge yourself at this stage in the game, so I totally rely on my working partners and trainers to give me honest feedback
I’ll begin posing practice this week and get used to those heels again!!!

Diet is still going well. I’m doing a 16 week diet this year - hopefully I’ll come in "ahead of the game" rather than trying to play catch-up at the end - right at contest time
. My clothes are beginning to get loose - always a good sign!.
Gosh, I love this heavy training phase. I have seen such an improvement in my lifting and muscle building! I told my trainer today that I want to train like this all the time…that didn’t fly! Ha ha!

Well, I’m 2 weeks into my pre-contest diet, and so far, things are going good. Of course, I’m still on meals that all contain carbs, so I’m happy and have energy - ha ha! I’m training 4 days per week - 2 days on shoulders, one day on legs and one on back. I’ll most likely keep it heavy for another 2-3 weeks, then back to high reps and lower weights.
My first competition is on October 18th this year and my second is November 1st. Right now it seems like I have a long way to go, but I’m excited to see my body come in this year!
