Have to Take a Mandatory Break

Hey All!!

I haven’t been around lately because in my very very excited and ambitious pursuit of my dream (stepping on the stage; getting my certification; starting my business) I injured myself and the doc told me I can’t even look at a gym until I heal which can take upto three months, my beautiful coach NPC National Competitor Amanda Genao said I’m not even allowed to go through these sites like I used to. Yes, I know this all makes me want to defy docs order and just do some small amount of cardio and some light weights….but I’m taking my time to get better and I went back on my diet hoping to lose 20 pounds and some bodyfat prior to getting back in the gym. I’ve been training my teenage stepkids and my little ones, which I have been getting such a kick out of. They tell me for a week how much pain they are in but they love it just like me.

The gym was MY time to do what I love. I work, commute over three hours a day, take care of five children;a husband; a big ole house that needs contant cleaning. The ONE thing I had just for me is the one thing I had to give up; this is very, very difficult, but I’m taking it one day at a time knowing that before the year is up I get to have the privledge of waking up at 4am and doing what I love best with great people every morning before the sun is even up!!

Back Work and Rant on Personal Trainers!!

It sure is tough getting up at 4:25am to make it to the gym, but when I get there I swear I feel so at home.  Before I start to let mind contemplate staying in the bed; I try to jump up and get out!

For the past two years I have hired trainer after trainer and paid unspeakable amounts of money! I always would provide for them a picture of what i wanted to look like, by that I mean I didn’t just want to lose weight I also wanted to build muscle; some flat out told me "thats disgusting", some said okay then proceeded to give me five pounds weights and massive cardio workouts.  I’m no expert, but I think trainers need to make sure they are on the same page with their clients on their expectations; today is the second day I have worked out with my brother and I know that this is what I had been looking for. We go straight to the "Big Boys" room and lift heavy, the women in there have the physique I am looking to emulate and when I’m done I feel each muscle sizzling!!!

I learned a couple of new exercises for my back; my brother said he sees the definition in my back starting to peek out…..I love it!!

Leg Work

So I have had the realization that my legs really need a lot of work. Big surprise right :-) well because I am going to compete more than likely next year, I have assembled a wonderful team that will be working with me to attain this goal. I am working with a great team, if they can’t whip me into shape no one can. I don’t want to compete for prizes of any kind of notoriety I just want to do something for me and I want to show my children through example how important it is to be healthy and to make and achieve an almost unreacheable goal such as this.

So June 1st was my starting date for intense work outs and soon I will receive my nutrition plan from Garrett; I did legs today and my brother killed them, seven set of squats whoa!!! plus much more………

My Training is Back!!

I finally had a Hardcore workout for the first time in two months, I was soooo happy to torture my muscles! I did feel the weakness I have developed over time and am happy to start working on my goals as of yesterday. I’m looking at 30% percent body fat and 164 pounds. The good thing is my trainer and his partner are seriously foucused on getting their bodies ripped right now so I get to see and learn by the techniques they are using for themselves and we will together try to perfect it for my body. I am working toward going down to 18-20% percent body fat, I still want some cushion :-) and going down to about 135 or 140 depending on how I feel at 140 I may want to stay or continue to go down, but no lower than 135……I want some serious arm and leg muscles. The nutrition part is where my trainer and I are disagreeing so we are working on that; he wants me to eat more real food, but I have gotten used to the medical weight loss products and am sooo comfortable with the protein shakes and bars, that I am afraid of incorporating more whole foods……but he is the boss so I will have to give in!!!

So, my goal is to have a Giants Sexy Photo Shoot for my husband for our anniversary on June 24, that is his team, and I know he would love it if I would take some pics in the gear………Wish me Luck and please provide guidance!!!!!

Vacation Backslide!

I’m finally going on vacation….That’s a YES and a NO all at the same time; you know vacation means…….lots of Pina Coladas and Beachside Barbeque…….with my recent thirty pound loss…….I just want to go crazy…….so next week will be a serious test, I’m sure I will backslide a bit, but I will try to be as reserved as I can be!!! Wish me luck :-)

Oh yeah, I’m going home baby, the Dominican Republic!!!!

Almost cleared for takeoff!!

I went to see my doctor and he told me that I can start doing some light working out on the treadmill and some light weights. I never knew how much working out was a part of my life. Since my surgery I haven’t exercised in four weeks and I mourned the loss of that feeling; that undescribable good, energetic, just yummy happiness that you have after a good workout. It is going to be worth it in the long run, because I am now able to have a smooth belly again after having two children by c-section (pics coming). I am even thinking about competing in a figure competition something I could have never considered because of the condition of my tummy. I don’t want to get ahead of myself because I want to jump in the gym head first and just do everything, but I know that i have to go SLOW and take it one day at a time to see if my body can handle the workout. Either way I can’t wait to cleary see defined muscles on my body and live my dream of Looking like a person who works out instead of looking like a person who just started………..

I’m Out for the Count

Hey All,

 I have to take a break from training for eight weeks, I chose to have my stretch marks removed and to get a brand new belly button. It became obvious with my weight loss that I had hanging skin so its gone now and I am recuperating……….Watch out for me!!! New Belly will be exposed soon!! Oh yes, the diet is still in full effect!! Heavy on Protein for healing!!

When Losing Weight, Cardio or Weights??

Okay I’m in full swing of things and have accomplished so much in a short period of time. I am going to see my trainer today, but I have a question for him since I’m still 26 or so pounds away from my goal should I still do mostly cardio or can I do my full bodybuilding workout like I really want to do?????

My one goal is to look like a person who works out, I have been in the gym for sooo long, but if you passed my on the street you can never tell. I want to have a RIPPED PHYSIQUE in 2008!! So I want to make sure I approach this correctly, any ideas? 

 

18 Pounds Down……YES!!

Hey….Here I am actually making a difference in my life, I actually can’t believe that I am able to stick with the program I chose. I do thank God for giving me the strength to turn down all the foods that have held me hostage for so long. I know that once i get into my maintenance phase I will again be in temptation village, so I’m hoping to keep myself in check for a lifetime.

So I am 18.7 pounds down in 26 days, that gives me such a boost and helps me believe that it is possible to get this weight off!!!!!

I am going back to personal training this week I need to start getting some muscle, and I’m going to force my husband to start taking weekly pictures of me so I can see my progress!

 

I Lost Nine Pounds!!

One week Later…..I Have Lost nine pounds!!! I’m sooo excited, I really didn’t believe that I could do it, letting someone else tell me what to eat and when but letting go was great. I’m also learning about my body. I just got a b12 shot for the first time and I’m feeling a little dizzy……..but overall I’m very happy and I plan to follow this medical diet for another week to see how I do, I know it won’t be nine pounds but hopefully four.
