Done week two, here comes week three

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

A quick update on my progress:

I’m about done week two of phase 2 in my tri-phase training, just have to do today’s leg workout, and it’s been going pretty good; I recovered from  the bad first day, and am back on track.I’m still trying the heavy weight /low reps but don’t feel that it is working, I think I may do a med/heavy weight with med reps for week three and make each set a drop set. that should kill my muscles pretty good, in place of the super heavy 2 rep sets next week calls for. On a side note I also workout solo so don’t feel comfortable going all out and getting injured. that’s all for now.

Uggghhh….

Sunday, July 20th, 2008

that sucked!!! I just finished my first day of phase 2 and…. Man…it was a bad experience…. 1)I have been tired all day, so was kind of forcing myself to the gym, 2) For some reason I am incredibly weak after about 2-3 in the afternoon.

So it was about 4 pm when I finally got my ass to the gym, I tried to get myself amped about the starting a new phase.. got the ipod on, turned up some "fight music", it didn’t work. My bench dropped drastically, from 205 for 9-10 to 190 for 7, I’m supposed to be increasing weight, WTF??? Tried ez bar curls only to have pains shooting through my forearm…..it sucked, did the preacher curl machine instead. uugghhh….I don’t even feel like re-living this on here…I’ll quit bitching

does anyone have suggestions on the best pre workout supplement??!! your opinion is appreciated!!

Starting phase Two

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

I only have tomorrow’s leg workout and I will have complete phase 1 of my tri-phase routine. I feel awesome; this has been a good program for me, so far. Hopefully phase 2 will take this even further, or at a minimum maintain this feeling. I’m a little worried about it though, phase 2 is a super heavy /low rep phase and generally I don’t do to well with that type of training, I think due to improper form and a lack of strength. Also I’m still cutting cals. which may effect this as well. I’m not trying to be negative, or come into this with a bad mindset, I’m just stating the facts. I will try to bust my ass to continue these results (mental and physical.)

On a side note I have been inputting every workout into the workout tracker, which has been a bit of over kill. I have decided to only input the second weeks workouts, in order, to make sure I am progressing. I will probably do progress pics and measurements around the same time. measuements and lifting stats for phase have just been posted,I will post the end of phase 1 progress pics this weekend.

Two weeks in

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

I have been doing this tri-phase program for two weeks now and am feeling pretty good so far. I was feeling pretty drained by the end of the first week and missed one of the workouts, which sucks but left time for some semi-needed rest. My diet has been pretty good, with the exception of a couple BBQ outings where I had a couple of beers for my "cheat" calories, nothing too, too, major tho.

Overall I have to say I’m really starting to see the effects of my diet and workout programs being in order, and actually sticking with them . I’m getting to be in the best shape I’ve been in in along, if not forever, time!! I’m not where I want to be yet, but these things take time. I really have the confidence in myself, to make my goals happen, maybe not this summer but no later than next!!

Personal goal Achieved!

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

Well, I just got back from a short trip to the beach and have to say it felt pretty good out there. I feel alot more comfortable taking my shirt off out in public now, which was one of my short term goals this year. I’m not (nearly) as "cut" as I would have hoped, but still I feel alot more comfortable than last year. This should serve as  some motivation for the rest of the summer, I’m not getting cravings for garbage food anymore which makes this alot, ALOT easier!!

Happy Canada day, to my Canadian Kinfolk!!
