Weight Loss Challenge Results!….

Sunday, February 15th, 2009

Ok….so, my parents and my fiance were involved in a little challenge at the local gym that I work out at.  They managed to trudge through the last three months and lose a couple pounds here and there, but nothing was too horrendous;-) Me on the other hand…I lost 21 lbs and 7% body fat! I was sooooo excited to finish! The next thing on my to do list this year is to compete in a beauty pageant…I mean scholarship competition…in 4 wks.  Basically that means I’m cutting out the carbs, upping the protein and adding some serious cardio to the everyday routine! I started doing push ups a couple weeks ago and so far they are showing great results! I will most likely post another blog once my pageant comes around, so until next time…. Never give up!

Running or Eliptical?….

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

We are now getting to the end of Janurary, and two days ago I turned 23! I started this mission almost 6 months ago, and I have reached my first goal.  On the day of my birthday I was able to put on a size 12 dress and look damn good in it. The last time I wore a size 12 was when I was a 6th grader, so you can imagine the feeling I had when I looked down at the size. My next goal will be to wear my swimsuit comfortably and confidently at my pageant which is on March 9th.  Lately, I have been working hard and eating right, but the other day I switched from being on the eliptical for 30 mins, to running on the treadmill for 25mins.  The question I have is this….which one is more intense because the last two mornings I have been struggling to move because I’m so sore throughout my core.  Can anyone shed some light on this? Alrighty, well, I’m going to get back to work now! Bye guys!

20 days in…

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Ok, So I’ve been meaning to get to this, but it’s been pretty busy in my world lately.  So far, I’ve managed to only miss one day at the gym since the begining of the year, and that was last friday.  Long story short….I won’t be doing that again. My body was so tired and sluggish that day that all I wanted to do was get back up onto the eliptical and pound it out for 30mins! I heard from Tony Robbins that it takes 21 days to make something a habit and if you continue with the habit for 6months, it becomes an addiction where you show signs of guilt and remorse when you don’t take part in your addiction.  It’s interesting to know that this month is my 5th month, and getting into the gym everyday is a necessity in life now.  My day isn’t complete unless I’m sweating through my clothes and I’m drinking a protein shake for dinner! LOL. I might sound crazy but it’s the way I like it.  I have been taking Hydroxycut Max and I do have to say that I recommend it to anyone! I combine those with a shake in the morning, and then a healthy lunch followed by workout with a shake for dinner:-) I’ve lost 5lbs in a week, and I can definitely see some major improvements in allover tone.  I’m going to post some pictures tonight b/c I think there is enough of a change to show everyone! Alrighty, well, I’m going back to work…see ya!

Learning….the hard way

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Alrighty so you know how when you’re a little kid and going to McDonald’s is the best thing in the world? Well, the other day I was thinking about it and I realized that I was doomed to be a fat kid from the time I was 4 till the day I graduated college, which was this last June of 08.  My dad used to take me to McDonalds for everything little thing that I did right, whether it was the end of the week or even the end of the school day. it’s kinda weird b/c the habit of rewarding myself with food has stayed with me until now, and we all know that it’s so easy to eat something and then say….oh I will work it off later, but then it never happens.  This is part of the reason why I have been back in the gym and experimenting with different things that I would have never ever tried back when I was really heavy, such as: Whey proteins, protein shakes, creatine, hydroxy cut, you name it, I’m sure I will try it soon enough:-) It’s not a bad thing, but it makes it interesting..lol. Anyways, just thought I would talk about my new break through….see ya!

Begining of the Year…

Sunday, January 11th, 2009

Ok, so we’re at the start of a new year. I started this journey last August, and it has been a rollercoaster ever since.  As of a couple days ago, I realized I have three major deadlines to his this year.  The first is a pageant that is on March 8th, which means I have 7 weeks to lose another 15 lbs. The next one is June, which is when we are going to be at the beach and I want to be able to wear a bikini comfortably.  Finally….I’m getting married this coming August or Sept, so that would be the one year mark and hopefully I will be at my goal weigh of 140lbs!  I currently weigh in at 175lbs, and I’m still training hard everyday…with the exception of one day a week to rest.  If anyone has any tips on how to keep from plateauing during this time, I would really appreciate it.  Thanks guys!
