Morning Training

Started out with about 10 minutes on the treadmill

Cleans

315×3 immediately followed by:

1 minute jump rope

pushdown/reverse grip pushdown combo 140×20/90×20

Standing Calves stack x100 rest pause to 175 (burning ass set)

Giant Set #2

Jump Rope for 1 minute

Decline crunches x60

Hanging leg raises x 10

2 minutes trunk twist

80lbs x 20 on rope crunches

 

That’s it for the morning, got a pump and burned some calories… all I wanted.

LA Fit Expo

I made it down to the Los Angeles Fit Expo on Sunday. I had a great time and met a lot of cool people. Plus its always cool getting free stuff… got lots of shirts and supplement samples. Took lots of pics with folks and really I just had a lot of fun rubbing shoulders with some of the greats. Here’s a good shot to start with, the Termolife girls and I…bertandthermolife.jpg

I must say that I was super impressed by Rich Gaspari. He was at the Gaspari booth and was a super cool dude. I asked him to take a picture with me and wound up shooting the sh*t with him for a little bit. I mentioned that I had been using Size On and that it was working and he visibly lit up, he was happy his product was working for me. After that he ran all over the little booth getting me PlasmaJet samples and t-shirts and Superpump 250. It was very obvious that he deeply cares about what he does, his product and his customers. You can tell that the work ethic he was known for in his Olympia days is very real and that he applies it to all aspects of his life. Kudos man!

I also met Jamie Eason, who is just as hot in person as on film, which is both impressive and rare. She was super nice too- even told me I was in “great shape and should be a fitness model…” :) That just about made my day. lol. Hope that idea works out someday actually…

Over at the All American EFX booth I met Flex Wheeler and bodyspace’s own Charla Cormier, both of whom were cool down to earth folks. In fact Flex was a funny bastard. (the reason I was laughing the pic was because of some stuff he was saying beforehand)

I spoke to Trey Brewer over at the BSN booth for a little. He actually won the first event I ever competed in, the 06 NPC Excalibur. I can’t believe he is only 22 or 23. Monster…Bert and Trey

Finally I was pleased to meet Jay Cutler and get to listen to him speak at a seminar. Actually he was a very good speaker and seems to be a great man. Definitely a great Mr. O and spokesman for bodybuilding. I’ve also never felt smaller standing next to someone, I mean I’m a good sized dude, but damn…Mr O and Me

I think you need a bit more size Jay…

Great morning, did cleans today. I haven’t done cleans since about 5 years ago in college really, and my old pr back then was 275. Beat that by thirty pounds today for reps. Pretty stoked with that. I think I’m gonna start doing them every few weeks again and see how strong I can get with them, it’ll help everything else anyway.
