Drained. My gramps had some major complications on Monday. They were going to do the colonoscopy and go down his throat with a scope so they had to clean him out. They gave him a gallon of something called GoLight and he almost had it all drank but wasn’t going yet and this was about 2 and a half hours after he started drinking this stuff. He was getting really bloated and uncomfortable. Then his lower back started to hurt a lot. A nurse went and talked to a doctor and was told to do an enema. When she came back he started throwing up but not all of it was coming out of his mouth but was going back down into his lungs. The nurse wanted to continue to ignore that and give him the enema. Well, luckily my cousin was there and yelled at the nurse to take care of his breathing because he was starting to gasp for air. The nurse said he’ll be okay and was still going to give him an enema. Well, my cousin starting yelling at the nurse and the nurse finally gave in and put an oxygen sensor on his figure and it read in the 40’s when it’s supposed to be in the very high 90’s. The nurse then started to panic and get help. I walked in at that point and he was in so much pain and having such a hard time breathing. It was very hard to watch.

They took him to CCU and has been there ever since. They put him on a bipap machine to assist in breathing and oxygen. They’ve since taken him off of that which is good but they are still giving him oxygen, vaporizer w/ l-buterole, steroids, antibiotics, and a bunch of other shots. His kidneys also got damaged and they are watching that very closely. His heart rate has been racing around 115 for three days now as well as his blood pressure going all over the place. He’s still loosing blood but they can’t do anything about that until they can get the fluid out of his lungs which will take some time.

Wasn’t going to comment as I really don’t feel it or anything right now. Zombie through the workout today. Felt like I just went through the motions. I was up really late last night at the hospital. My grandpa was brought in yesterday because he has been throwing up a lot lately and they found he has been loosing a lot of blood. They did a CAT scan on him last night and gave him a blood transfusion. Looks like he might have an ulcer and I really hope that is all that is wrong. They will be doing more tests and probes this morning.

I should easily hit 270 for my second attempt at the next meet. I really concentrated hard on my lats today and leg drive. I just about gave myself a leg cramp actually. I was really trying to tuck my feet back as far as possible and keep them flat. Then tried raising my toes to dig my heal in to the ground. Then for the lats I concentrated on squeezing them back as I lowered the bar into them and then flex them as hard as I could off the bottom. I still got stuck on the 270 about 3 inches up but lifted the butt a little and then it kept on going.

Couldn’t get out of bed this morning. Just wanted to sleep. But once I was up I had a pretty decent workout. Arm is almost back to 100% and will probably throw in a few hammer curls in next week for some rehab/prehab. It is time to grow. I’m getting back to normal recovery rates now and doing some GPP on my off days. All harvesting is done for and I can just concentrate on training now. I’m thinking about doing the January 26th UPA meet but need to try and scrounge some money for the entry fees. I’ll be way outclassed there which I’m looking forward too and very nervous about.

My arm felt slight stiff but not really painful but was trying to talk myself out of pulling but I wanted to pull really bad. I went to bed last night just really wanting to do some pulls. I didn’t do any on Monday and didnt do any back at all on Tuesday. But still I shouldn’t do any pulling yet till my arm is fully healed!!! Woke up this morning feeling down and just wanted to go back into bed. Then slowly with out motivation thinking okay I’ll go in and do some low box squats or something that would carry over to my DL. I got up to the rack and was just F’n pissed off that I wasn’t pulling. So, I went and pulled anyways. It hurt mostly on the way down and when I got up to 405 but dang it that felt good.

Then this was the first time I’ve done Leg Press in well over a year. I wasn’t sure where my strength would be on it and if it would have gone down from the last time. Nope it was definitely up. I think the best I’d ever done on the leg press was 1145 for a single. I blasted that away with no problem. My hips were very tight by the end of the 1035 set but really wanted to see where I was at with 1145 and it went just fine. My hips will be complaining about it for a while though.

Grip and forearms are definitely involved in the bench and especially in the lockout. At 205 I started to feel it and at 225 it was getting painful. It seems imposible to have your arm straight and flex the tricep really hard with out involving the brachioradialis.

Did notice that I’m actually starting to pick up a little speed with the 205 as well. That makes me happy. I’m also started to get a little more consistant in my bench setup from last week to this week. Plus, it looks like my arch is improving. You can help be the judge:

No pulling anything for my back today or any 1 and 2 boards. After the bench and DB Floor press my arm was pulsating. Didn’t help that I tried rolling the dumbell onto to my leg with my bad arm and dumped it. Stupid.

Built two tables/counter tops this weekend and when I was flipping one of them over I think I strained really bad my brachioradialis. It started hurting a little bit after that but I pretty much ignored it. I shouldn’t have and should have iced it last night. It’s hurting really bad this morning so I didn’t do any speed pulls or high pulls today. The DB DL wasn’t to bad but I was scared the speed and the bending of the arms in the high pull might irritate it even more. I feel it pretty bad when curling something. Time to through in some curls/hammers in to the training loop once this goes away.
