So tired this morning and I had a pretty good headache going on. Just glad it’s a speed day because I hate having the blast through a heavy workout with a headache. Got the walls painted last night and even had time to go check out some hot air balloons. This big park and mansion had 5 -7 hot air balloons set out for display and were filling them up and I got to be right there with them. It was pretty cool. Well, I guess I didn’t really have time since I didn’t get to bed until 11pm. Oh well.
Brought the camera to the gym today and got the video’s taken. Not the best camera but it works. Uploaded them but it seems to not like the DL video. I removed it and uploaded it again and still says file not found on the site. Not sure what’s going on with that. The squat one works though. So, let me know how screwed up I am.

I ALMOST HAD 255 FOR A TRIPLE!!! That would have been awesome! Got it half way up and just stalled. I’ll hit some three board supplement work. Kicked some butt on the 265 though. That felt really strong. In fact I felt really tight and compact today on the bottom and really felt I was getting some leverage out of my form. Felt great.

I had a ton of energy today. I was excited to get into the gym. I hit 435 on the squat the other day and didn’t think I was going to be able to and today my nemesis was 265. I kept thinking about how it flattened me out last week and was thinking about it going to bed last night about how I really need to make sure I stay nice and tight.
I did some work on the house last night too. I took out the drop ceiling in the dinning room. The people that owned the house previously just did a lousy job at patch work here and there. Never really doing anything right. They put wall paper on the walls and ceiling in the spare bedroom on the main floor and put wall paper on the ceiling in the dinning room. At some point the roof leaked pretty bad and they had the roof replaced. Which is a really good thing for me. But they didn’t feel like taking the wall paper down or fixing the water spots on the ceiling so they just put up wood paneling in the spare room and a drop ceiling in the spare room and dinning room. The worse part is that they used really cheap thin Styrofoam for the drop ceiling panels. It looked AWFUL! No more drop ceiling in the dinning room though. The walls will be painted tonight. Then this weekend I’ll be working on the ceiling. I’ll just leaving the wall paper there and put up some new sheet rock.

I don’t know what to say but I have a feeling of many different emotions like excitement, nervousness, giddiness, fear, and plenty of others I feel like exploding. I finally scrounged up the money to get my membership card for the NASA and pay my entry fee’s for the October 27th meet. I’ve been so excited about it already and couldn’t wait for it to get here. Now that I’m registered I feel like I’m about to go on my first date. Major butterflies and excitement. I also feel like I’m finally becoming a power lifter. I’ve never excepted any kind of title before other than being a general gym rat. When I first got into training for power lifting last November people would say "So, you’re a power lifter now?" I would reply that I wasn’t. Lately people have asked if I was bodybuilder and would flat out say no way. Then back in December I decided to compete but I still really didn’t feel like I was a true power lifter. I still felt like a gym rat with more of a goal. Now, I can taste it. My blood is pumping and my stomach is turning. October is to far away.
October 27th, 2007 Iowa Regional - 198lbs / Sub-Masters 1 Pure / Novice / Unequipped / Power Lifting
Right now I’m thinking of a 385/250/385 Opener and would love to end it with 430/280/425 which would start me out as a Class 4. I just don’t want to bomb out my first time out.

I was really worried coming into today. Last night my left hip was hurting for some reason. I don’t know why. It was fine all day then around 6pm it started to hurt as I was going up and down stairs. Which has become a routine of mine to go up and down my stairs for a while holding about 25lbs to loosen up my legs and everything before my ME SQ/DL day. This morning though it was just fine thank goodness. Then when I got into the gym it felt like I just jumped into a pool. I guess the AC wasn’t working right and it was extremely humid in there after all the rain we just had. People, including me, were just sweeting buckets and for those that were wearing white shirts, again including me, it was like a wet t-shirt contest. Unfortunately, it was all guys. I was starting to get worried about the bar slipping on my back by the end of my squats.
The environment really zapped me big time. I was extremely determined though to hit my PR’s and grinded them out with everything I had. I actually grunted really really loudly, which I’ve never done before, on the last two sets. I was really shaky on the 425 and felt my legs wobble as I was stepping out. That kind of freaked me out. Then I almost didn’t make the 435. I got down and really wanted to touch and go. But I forced my ass down and released my hips. Then I just wanted to dump it on the pins. I felt like I had nothing in me. The entire situation with the heat and humidity then my pansy a$$ thoughts just PISSED ME OFF and I gave it everything to get back up. I hit a triple and single PR and on top of that more volume then I’d done before.

I’ll be in the Denver Area mainly at the hotel and the Convention Center and will need to find a gym to workout at. Preferably someplace PL friendly or better yet focused. I’ve never had the oportunity to train at someplace like that and would love to find something. Unfortunetly I’ll have limited transportation. It’ll either have to be foot, taxi, or limite bus that takes me from the hotel to the convention center and does stop at a few hotels on the way. I really wont have the cash to pay for a week fee AND a taxi, work wont pay for that, so that kind of takes out the taxi unless I have absolutely no other choice. So if there is someplace with in a few miles of where I’m staying or anywhere on the way to the convention center that would be great!
The Hotel and address I’ll be staying at:
Four Points by Sheraton Denver Southeast
6363 East Hampden
Denver, CO 80222
Here’s a map of all the hotels that I would be able to hitch a ride to on the bus including the convention center.
https://microsoft.crgevents.com/wwpartnerco…/Hotelmaps.aspx
I found this place at PL watch but it’s about 10-11 miles away from the closest hotel. I don’t think I’ll be up for that kind of hike back and forth.
Rocky Mountain Lifting Club 537 Olathe Dr. Aurora, CO 80011 - about 10-11 miles away.

Awesome weekend. It was overcast and misty but still a great weekend. Went to a cool car show, stuffed myself silly with Ribs at a BBQ Round Up cook off, and some general wondering around Czech Village and the Amana Colonies. Then Sunday I did absolutely nothing. Well, I worked on my computer because the hard drive died on it. Good thing I have a backup of all my data.
Tomorrow I will hit a PR. I have to think that. This will be my first time doing a three week wave in a long time. Past few cycles I’ve been doing only two week waves and it seemed to make it easier to hit PRs. I figure I’ll throw in a few three week waves again this cycle and really challenge myself.

A major thunderstorm came through last night right over the house. I woke up with the lightening lighting up the room and the thunder that came right along with it was shaking the house. Electricity went out on the very first major lightening strike that woke me up. It scared the crap out of the dog and cat. They were freaking out the entire time. Probably lasted for about an hour. Looking forward to this weekend. I’m not going to touch the house or plan not too. Three is something called the Freedom Festival going on through out the weekend. I’ll be going to some car shows, bbq roundup taste testing, concerts, and many other events going on.

Got my PR and I hit a little more volume this time before attempting the 255. I was really stiff yesterday all over and was worried going into today. So I figured I need to do some pushing of something before going into today. I really don’t think my lawn needed to be mowed but did it anyways because I knew that it would feel good to do. I love summer and being to do some GPP yard work or landscape style. The yard I have now is the perfect size. It’s about a quarter acre and I’m pretty spent after mowing it all. Especially after throwing about an extra 50lbs of weight on the lawn mower.

PISSED OFF THIS MORNING!! At least I was until I got my squat on and took it out on that. I woke up super late this morning. I have my alarm set to a radio station and the tuning was off. It was barely making any noise. I opened my eyes and thought that it seemed rather bright out for 5:30am. I looked at the clock, "6:24am", and I yelled F#CK!! Jumped up and had to make the quickest and easiest decision I’ll probably have to make all week. Either go in and get at least my squats done and be really late for work or just start getting ready for work now.

Everything felt really heavy today. I was having problems pushing 150 with some good speed on the bench. I’m still trying to catch up with some sleep. I didn’t get much rest or eat enough this weekend. After the relay for life I started working on the house. Past two days I put in a pretty good sized raised platform down in the basement that I will eventually close off into a closet. Cleaned, primed, and then put down some sticky vinyl tile in the basement bathroom, which I put up a wall for last weekend. Dug a three foot hole for a post to hang bird feeders on. Also, did the never ending task of weeding the garden. The raised platform took most of my time.
