The Five Anabolic Substances You Never Think Of (part2)

Friday, February 13th, 2009

In part one we discussed discussed  Desiccated Beef Liver. Now we continue with part 2 and we talk about a well know jem that you probaby never thought of for mass building purposes.

Fish Body Oils-

I am sure by now people know tons of benefits from Fish Body Oils. Benefits range from protection from stroke, improved cardio vascular health, more cognitive brain functions, reduction of types of cancer and even positive mood elevation. Did you know that Fish Body Oils can also help with building muscles?
The first most basic thing about Fish Body Oil is it is a fat and fat is a key element in mass building. To build mass you need calories and fat contains 9 calories per gram as opposed to protein and carbs, who both yeild 4 calories per gram.
When you are building muscle, it is essential that you do take in fat. A decreased fat intake can lead to lower testosterone levels. This, in turn decreases the rate and volume at which muscles are made. So a good intake of fat increases testosterone and helps to build muscles. Staying away from saturated fats is the key. These promote fat gain in the body and health problems. Essential fatty acids like omega 3 fatty acids found in fish oil are the perfect natural bodybuilding supplement, for this reason. Taking in the ‘good’ fat leads to better muscle production and better bodybuilding results. It also can increase testosterone because of lowering cortisol displacing it from the receptor which test</acronym> and cortisol compete. By displacing cortisol from the receptor this increases free testosterone levels. It all comes down to balance that’s the key. This is also good news for women because women are more prone to adrenal burn out then men are. By keeping cortisol in check you keep thyroid, estrogen, and insulin in balance.
What omega 3 fatty acids also do is boost the insulin level in the body. Insulin works as a transporter of nutrients into the cells of your body. By making the insulin metabolism more efficient you will gain a muscular body faster.

Tendon strength is also improved by the intake of fish liver oil proved in a research conducted in Utah.

A recent fish oil study out of Texas A&M found that fish oil improved the ability of muscle cells to take up glucose, or blood sugar, in the presence of insulin.  Furthermore, fish oil was shown to “improve cell viability, a measure of cellular metabolic activity.

How to take it-
For general maintenance take 1-6 grams daily. For more anabolic properties take anywhere from 6-12 grams daily (this dose should be taken anywhere from 4-6 weeks and then cycled downed. Fish Body Oils at very high doses have been shown to suppress the immune system)
